    hi
i already have gtx 295 and i'm pretty happy with it but i'm considering buying another one since i found one for 250$ which is a pretty good price.
i have i7 overclocked to 3.7 ghz but i will try to overclock it more later.
anyway, is it worth the 260 $ since i'm not upgrading dx11 until q2 2011.
    thanks.

Well isnt it better that you sell your GTX295 for that price and buy one of the new upcoming ATI 6xxx series in october?

Yout will have DX11 and alot more performance and you dont have to wait Q2 2011

no i've been trying to sell mine for month's but no one want to buy it because it's the first gtx 295 not the co-op one and the card is pretty hot.

anyway the gtx 295 is co-op edition and the heat is way better.

I would say absolutely not worth it. Look at scaling with GPUs. Two cards scale well in SLI with a Core i5/i7 CPU. But three and more? Diminishing returns. When four GTX 480s were put together in recent tests, there were times when three GTX 480s outperformed four of them.

I would stay far away from going beyond two-card SLI/CrossFireX.

just overclocked my cpu to 4.0 ghz
    not bad for c0 stepping.
    i got 23666 in vantage.
i hope thats good enough for quad sli gtx 295.
i'm considering getting new full tower case to replace my old medium tower ( the cards can fit but i want to do a cable management.

No there not worth it,alot of games dont scale as good as what you think and 2 cards are not needed unless your benching,i always leave my other gpu disabled, tbh im going to sell it as its not needed.

i know alot of games won't scale well, but i heard that games with nvidia support scales pretty well ( metro 2033, crysis and mafia 2 ).

I would not buy one. I'd hold on to the single 295 and upgrade later and offload the 295 to another system or sell it. That's what I'm doing based on recommendations here.

When a true DX11 game comes out that really requires a new card I'll buy the best one at that time.

its not worth it m8t............quad SLI especially GTX 295 cause loads of problems..........I would remain with one GTX 295 & stay with it for another 2 years..........you can still play all of the games maxed out.........moreover DX11 is not issue right now, because its not implemented in many games, so right now is useless to upgrade to a newer GPU or do quad SLI..........so remain with 1 GTX 295 m8t ;)

keep the single 295. I have one in both my rigs. I could easily afford 1 or 2 480`s but the 295 is roughly = to 1 480 so its not worth it to me

In most games today yep...anything that isn't DX11 and at 1920x1200 or below they are pretty even, give or take a couple fps in this game or that game. The thing that gets me most is that a lot of people I know think that 80fps vs 75fps is a big enough difference to spend $400 on the new card. I ask them if the game is suddenly unplayable at ~5fps slower.

the only reason i even considering doing it is for crysis since it my favorite game this generation.
also, i want to play metro in 1080p and i know it need alot of gpu power.
also mafia 2 seems to have good gpu scaling and my limited edition just shipped.
keep in mind that i'm paying 250$ not 500$ ( the price for one 480$ ) and where i live its very hard to find high end cards for that good price.
i will definitely upgrade when nvidia release graphics card thats 30% more powerful than 480 but until then i think i'm gonna be happy with single gtx 295 or the quad gtx 295
    thanks
