Finished my new IB build on the weekend and have been doing a bit of monitoring of power usage. Thought this might be useful info for someone?

    Here are my specs
3770K@4.5Ghz - 1.205v - Corsair H100 cooling - found this is my sweet spot so far (100% load is about 70c)
    Asus P8Z77 Deluxe
    7970@ 1125/1575 - 1.125v - arctic xtreme cooler
    16Gb (4x4gb) Ripjaws 2133 - 1.6v
    RevoX2 + 1.5TB hdd
    4 120mm case fans
    Thermaltake 875w

These are measured using a monitor I bought at the hardware store so nothing professional and the wattages move around by a few % either way.

    Power usage
Idle state - 250w - at desktop doing nothing
    Sleep state - 8w

    GPU@60% + CPU@100% - 410w
    GPU@100% + CPU@70% - 480w

or a lot less than my old i7-920@3.8 :)

Looks about right. I take it you have your monitor plugged into the same outlet, hence the high idle usage. Another thing you have to take account for is PSU efficiency.

Any reason why you're using the Thermaltake over the Seasonic listed in your profile?

the fan in the Seasonic was starting to get noisy so I have put it away as a spare should I need it..

I might swap out my monitor and see what values I get then.

wow, about 50w being drawn by the monitor?? could that be right (Dell U2410) - idle is now 200w!
