That's just FO3 being FO3. It's got some major bugs in it's rendering engine, especially in the "VATS" part of the game. Not much any driver can do about it, really. I was hoping for a patch to fix that, but it looks like Bethesda has moved on to their next game now. Maybe we'll see a patch that addresses this after Mothership Zeta (the next DLC) launches, but don't hold your breath.

Thats really irritating me. Nvidia's drivers are over twice the size of Ati's drivers and they keep getting more and more bloated. Now I have Ion support, sterioscopic glasses support, Physix, and Windows 7 tweeks in my Vista drivers, all of which I don't use. The sad part is that Nvidia's drivers have gone way downhill in the past few months.

175.16 is one of the best drivers that I have ever used and it was only around 50MB (less than half the size of current Nvidia drivers). It took a long time to catch up to the stability of 175.16 after they added Physix support which I have never used.

Due to all of this I am probably going with Ati on my next card.

Also about FO3, you would figure that Bethesda would at least attempt to patch up some of the bugs in FO3 before selling $50 worth of content that is combined half the size of a normal expansion pack.

    /rant

My card now is in 2d mode, now in 3d, now again in 2d, and now in 3d...!! Every second it switches mode....strange...186.18 was better for me.

To me it' s bad, more heat produced in 3d mode, and also more energy request....when not gaming the card must stay automatically in 2d mode...:)

edit: I' ve also seen that not in all rigs a driver works in the same way. Mine have this problem with this driver set, maybe others doesn' t have...

extracted to about 280mb, seems pretty much bloated to me, not to mention dependencies on .net

Does anyone know if this fixes the Mirror's Edge flickering objects (Faith, etc) in SLI mode? I've had that problem with most (perhaps all) of the 180s and up until current.

    im sorry but rant fail?

    Nvidia's packages are below 160MB roughly 110 for x32 and 130 for x64.

    ATI's drivers for x64 are 90MB.
Please, do tell us where you get your twice the size figure from?

However, i do agree they are bigger then they need to be.
Do we really need to update the control panel every time the driver itself gets updated?, no not likely., neither do we need to update the physx driver every time.

a driver update would be only about 10MB's to download if they drivers were modulised.

it can be done with sound cards, and the NVCP is just changing values in the registry so theres no reason why it can't be made to be installed as modules.

nvidia's are nowhere near that even when fully installed :X

try disabling physx as physx does not work very well in mirrors edge

Wow, was I wrong about CCC but you can't arugue with the fact that Nvidia's drivers are becoming more and more unnessesarily bloated. Their drivers have gone way downhill since the 182.xx's. It's irritating me, I already went through this when they implemented Physix and it took a long time for their drivers to get back on track.

Nvidia keeps adding more features, but I wouldn't call that "bloat."

Stop missinforming. The 9.7's are not officially released, and the set released by rflair contains BOTH 32/64 bit drivers packed. That is why its so big when extracted.

Seriously let the fanboyism DIE already.

Now about 186.24, They run solid on my MSI GTX 285 to this point, Fallout 3 included.
