Is it still necessary for a series 200 GPU to update drivers?

I have a GTX275 and 260.99 driver, is there any added benefit to update to say, 266.58 (latest whql)? I ask this bec. it seems only the series 500 and 400 cards are in the Release Notes.

Not all drivers state only 400/500 improvements !

Remember drivers add profiles and fixes for recent game at time !

Keep an eye on the proper full .PDF changelog not the small "read me" most post and decide if you need or not.

^^ Same to you but also look for new SLI profiles on new GForce site (example BulletStorm) and EVGA site/Forum (sometimes ahead of Nvidia with making them) !

i run a pair of 260's, and have tried all the newest drives. i *always* end up going back to 260.99, always ;) also, i use the latest NV sli patch on the 260.99's and it worked great! i have all the latest sli profiles now :)

Frankly I only update my drivers only if a new game requires them.

260.99 were the worst for me, 266.58 and 267.17Q are allot better or even 263.15tesla and older 258.96.. everything else from 26X.xx is a disaster lol

182.50 were so so back in the days 186.18 or later 195.62 and 197.75 rocked, also 198.34 from laptop2go are really good too.

So what is your recommendation out of all the drivers you mentioned? Currently on the 260.99 drivers.

267.17Q if they're not ok, then 266.58 if still not ok, then 265.90Q or 263.15tesla at end.

i find 266.58 the worst of all the recent drivers. they cause micro stuttering on my 460 sli machine and my 260 sli computer. i did find the latest beta driver no too bad, and the 265.90's aren't bad either. however, i still prefer 260.99 whql.

I don't upgrade my drivers unless there is a problem with the game I'm playing

Would wait with the hassle of updating drivers until Nvidia releases the DX11 multithreading drivers

I have a GTX 260 and I installed the 267.26 this week, those are drivers specifically meant for the 500 series cards, although you have 267.24 which are supposedly the same and for all cards or something.

And I think they run better then older drivers.

As long as it doesn't go slower ...
