    Empowering Creators says Intel.
Empoverish Creators is a more suited slogan, closer to reality.
I find odd that a 10 core HEDT CPU only has so little L3 cache shared between cores.
Let's wait and see what price Intel will ask for it.

Competition is good, from all sides. Will be interesting to see how 'competitive' they'll be with pricing.

As expected, Intel empoverishes creators, not empowering them.

  7. It does seem a bit on the paltry side, doesn't it?

At 1MB per core, it has a sizable L2 cache though, which Intel probably believes results in better performance then offering less L2 and more L3 (like AMD currently does).

I don't really expect such a thing. It's Intel. I imagine they will charge a lot, relying on the loyal customers to buy enough to make money due to the large profit margin, not numbers. In fact that might even be wise for Intel considering their production lines are stressed by running at 100% capacity as it is.

10/20 in Intel's HEDT for $400? Sorry bud, you info sounds unbelieavable. Not even the 9900k costs that, even after Zen 2 launched.

Still, this would compete with threadripper 3000, which we still know almost nothing about. I'd say if you're in the market for this kind of PC, wait until that is announced.

You have it precisely backwards - AMD's modular design allows for superior margins compared to Intel's monolithic design, especially as core counts go up. The cost of creating four 8-core chips is a lot less than creating one 28-core chip so AMD has a massive advantage in the HEDT and server space.

LOL, Intel's TDPs aren't even real to begin with. Their TDPs are based on the lowest clock without any boost working whatsoever. "175 watts" coming from Intel probably means 250+ in a good scenario.

Lol, seems like you weren't sober when posting this.
    Cheapest 8 C is 9900 for +400, cheapest 10 C is +800, none of them hedt..

If whatever you took was plant based, please let me know where you got it from, seems to be good stuff :D

You're not even making a valid comparison here. Cascade Lake X is HEDT (the X is indicative), which means it will be going up against AMD's HEDT lineup, which offers 16/24/32 core variants. Also, it's a well-established fact that a modular design with multiple dies has better margins than a monolithic die so I have no idea where you get the idea that Intel can create monolithic dies for cheaper - if you think otherwise, then present the proof.

If only people like you had better things to do with their lives ...... , just remember your statement so when the CPU in question arrives you will feel stupid for making this up .

Saved this post to quote later when products released.

2066 is HEDT. Mac Pros uses XEONS, which are not HEDT by definition. Doesn't mean they can't be used that way, but that is why Mac Pro uses socket 3467, is because it's using a XEON.

These are the products that go up against eachother:

    Mainstream: Core i3-7 Vs Ryzen
HEDT: Core I7-9 X vs Threadripper
    Servers: Xeon vs EPYC

If you have any delusions about this, that is your issue, and no one elses.

Also, what is it with certain people on these forums that seem to have this idea that THEY get to decide what a companies product is, or isn't? The mentality one must have to do that......they really need to seek help.

Edit: Found out who @karma777police source is: Himself and his wish.

Ironically enough before he posted his wish, he stated that is what will happen. So what is it, a wish, or a statement?

He also posted this in June, yet now claims, what he claimed before, is less then a month old?

    Here's another "claim" he had

(16 core/32 thread for clarification since that was what was being discussed in the thread)

There's not a single prediction this guy has ever made that has come true.

Huh, surprising, 10 core processors not for $400, and lowest price you can effectively get them is $590....if you can afford to buy them in 1K amounts or more..........(If i'm reading this correctly)

Yeah, no one is surprised you were wrong.
