Spoken like a true uneducated person.

I'm sure the trees and animals really couldn't care less for you or your son.

Likewise they have posted links to information claiming this is a normal cycle for the earth. So does that mean you're dense for not listening? Bottom line there are thousands of scientists that believe global warming is caused by man and there are thousands that believe it's not. Everyone looks at the facts and forms their own opinion on the subject.

I saw that I also saw the BLURB! directly under the top photo.

"Both scientists believe that man's activities are causing global warming"

How many will bother reading any further.

I wonder if we will see a crysis mod soon:

    Crysis: A world in crysis
From deep freeze to dry heat...and back again.

While I was doing my degree, I studied some other stuff, just so I was not doing the same thing everyday for 6 years, and one of the modules I did was environmental science, and I am sorry to say that there is just so much cast iron proof that we are causing 'all' of this problem, and because of this its quite rare I get involved in this sort of thing because all the unbelievers have to do is wait a while to be proved wrong.

Part of the problem is there is much more going on than just 'global warming', put it this way when I hear someone say that ('global warming') I know they dont have a clue what their talking about. Its climate change, because for one in the UK we are going to get much colder because of the gulf stream shutting down. Its lost >30% of its power in the last 20 years (that is a big deal) and that is one of the things that does drive a lot of the weather. But there a loads of other things that are all... helping (not really the right word) to cause this problem.

First and most often what people are talking about when they say 'well the earth does this all the time its cycles are nothing unusual'... The Milankovitch Cycle... have you ever had a gyroscope or spinning top ? When you spin them they wobble in a sort of circle dont they ? That is what the earth does and this causes the ~100,000 year cycle of global weather/climate pattens, there are sort of 3 parts to it and the web page will do a better job of telling you than I could in less than the 40 odd pages I had to write on it.

    http://www.emporia.edu/earthsci/student/howard2/theory.htm
    http://www.homepage.montana.edu/~geol445/hyperglac/time1/milankov.htm

Then, as I said before the gulf stream is another very important... 'thing' that drives the weather in a much shorted time frame compared with the above... again I will let you read the other pages, unless you want to buy a copy of my dissertation. Another problem from it shutting down it that the energy that it uses up will have to be driven off in another way and most are sure that this will be done via worsening weather pattens round the Gulf of Mexico, seen storms getting worst in that area ? For the main we are going to get colder, not hotter. I was described the problem as like a light switch that you push on, not enough to flip it at first but slowly harder and harder, then suddenly it moves... a long way, that is what the gulf stream is like.

There is another, much less talked about problem directly attributed to the coal/oil burning called 'global dimming' this has been slowing down some of the effects of the 10's of millions of tons of CO2 and other nasty by products we put up into the atmosphere everyday by changing the way clouds form from too much sulphur dioxide and very fine partials stopping clouds form in the normal way
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=...num=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=global+dimming&spell=1
    http://www.realclimate.org/index.php?p=110
    http://www.globalissues.org/EnvIssues/GlobalWarming/globaldimming.asp

Another is Magnetic Declination and the problems of the poles flipping. This is yet another thing that has gone on since the start of the Earth's time, but it is just like with the others not such a good thing for us even though not really attributed to the burning of the oil/coal thing, but it is yet another part of the many things driving this problem.

I just thought that people (if any read this far, one of the problems of being able to touch type you write far too much) think I have picked out the best links so I will give the google link as well.
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=...q=Magnetic+declination+poles+flipping&spell=1
    http://www.teara.govt.nz/EarthSeaAndSky/Geology/MagneticField/1/en

But the main thing you have to understand is that with all of these 'normal' cycles we have for the first time in the earth history a species that covers the surface and is using up things (oil coal) from far back in time and bringing forward in time its problems.

I do understand that our government Blair and co have jumped onto this and are using it as a way to get some more money out of us in the form of the so called green taxes, I think they are needed but there has to be a fund or some sort of thing where we can see that the money is getting used and that its not just yet another way to suck us dry.

I could go on and on, but I think one of the easier ways to prove this problem is this. In the 'class' of about 30 ~40 of us that did the same module as I did, there were a lot more than 75% that after doing the course have said just like me... this is a big problem, I am not going to bring kids into this world to be left with my mess.

As for that oil company sponsored thing on the other night saying about the Hoax that is climate change, the scientist that did not work for oil people has started to take the program makers to court for libel.

deforestation so what??? u friggin ignorant twat. mand treesnot important? how are u breathing u moron? Co2,which funnilyenough is what trees produce, and the amazon is responsiblefor 20% of the worlds oxygen. Also approx 50% of ALL plant and anaimal species are native to the forest.

Also 25% of all pharmaceuticals were derived from rainforest ingredients.
I mean there are some 3000 diffrent Fruit types and over 60,000 species of plants, some of which may holdthe cure for serious illness's too

Closed. Nice going, egorn. See you in a few days. Oh ... and the rainforest contributes to ZERO percentage of the earth's oxygen;) Cause it spends as much as it uses. ... No last comment, just a little correction.
