got both GPU and SMP going

I paused the GPU while I set up the SMP so the PPD dropped like a brick.
lets give it 24hr to cook and then see what pops out ofthe oven.

Whatever WU you are processing, you have to remember that it should be completed and returned the Servers before the Preferred Deadline. HFM.NET does an excellent job if it. Do remember to select the options for Bonus Points Calculation so that you can have an accurate PPD for your SMP2 Client.

the SMP client has a ETA of 15hr the window is 72hr
    Think I am good there
I have the Bonus points checked off in HFM.NET for the SMP
I now have 3 GPU Clients running trying to get some screen shots so i can post

    hey Jarith,

just in case you havn't realised yet,

in order to get the bonus points for the smp2 clients, you need to have a passkey and you also won't get any bonus points until you've returned 10 wu.

So I need to do 10 SMP WU or any 10 WU?
I have a passkey got one when I first started (and was failing badly I got like 10-14 EUE's = unstable machine)
any way I kinda went GPU crazy this weekend I have 3 Home PC's
    Mine
    intel 955 CPU
2x NVidia 9800 gt (was running SLI)
    Folding 1 GPU2 client
    Son's
    intel core Duo E6550
2x NVidia 8600 gts (was running SLI)
    Folding 2 GPU3 clients
    Wife's
    AMD 8750,
    NVidia 260 (216 BFG 55 OC )
    Folding 1 SMP2 and 1 GPU2 Clients

installed FHM.NET added all the clients in and turned on Bonus points.
    I average 15,000PPD
most of these Boxes run 24/7 (yes I have a big power bill)
So I am new to this but I caught on quick and did alot of reading, there are some really good guides out there.
I was doing SETI @ home for a good while so i kinda got a head start from that.

that would be 10 smp wu if when you got those eue wu were on your passkey then you may need to do a few more, its ment to be 80% with out eue so the 10 ment 100% sent back with out eue all im saying is you mit need to do a few more than normal but we will have to wait and see what happens when you have returned 10wu

    ok, not a problem
this is more like a long term project you really don't "just fold on the weekends"
So time will tell. What I really need to do is get the SMP bugs out of my system (the one that gave the EUE's) Then I can get 4 cores cracking that cancer cure

have you overclocked your machine? Some WUs are meant to EUE so there is nothing that you can do about it except report it in the Official Forum and then the Admin/Mods can look it up and mark it as bad.

I don't OC my CPU just tinker with my two 9800gt. I burned to many chips in my younger days.
No I EUE'd on every thing diff runs and projects I got to find out what is sucking up my CPU time or set the priority higher to keep background programs from interfering with the folding

If that is the case, then I guess it is hardware related unless there is a particular software that is causing F@H to EUE. Can you run StressCPU without any errors? Is your CPU heating up which is causing this problem? Is the RAM Stable?

Just signed up and put in the guru3d team number...i've never seen any program max out GPU usage anywhere near that much...

Yep, will certainly run your gpu 100% 24/7 365 days a year if you let it :wanker:

    Can you pause folding tasks?

If you are using the Systray Version then yes. For Console Version, you can't pause.

I see it now, thanks...next time i'll take the 2 seconds to look. As there is no interface when it's maximised I figured there was no options, it's all about the tray tool though ;)

Are you using the Viewer that is with the Systray? If yes then I advice you that you don't use it as it is known to be buggy and will take up a lot of resources which will slow down the folding process.
If you want to monitor the F@H Clients, you can use HFM.NET which will give you a variety of useful information in an easy-to-understand manner what you can customize too.

I've turned off the display, thanks, the main reason I downloaded it was to test GPU stability, but GPU usage is still way up with it off so it's all good.

If you wanted to test the GPU stability for F@H then you will need this: MemtestG80 - This is specifically designed by F@H developers to stress the GPU Memory. It is useful for checking the system stability for scientific accuracy. It won't stress the GPU like FurMark or Kombustor or F@H GPU Client but is does a vital job to ensure that it is "F@H ready"

Thanks for your help yet again. Will test on my 480 when it arrives in the morning.

you may need a different client to get you gtx480 working but it is just a simple panther probably no more than me on that one
