It's an expensive game to make/license, plus they want to make as much as possible from it. Everyone knows this, so everyone knew it was just temporary. This celebrity worshiping culture now applying to YouTubers lol.
I don't know if anyone else has found this, but i tried tingering around with this game, as the sli scaling was abysmal to say the least. Turns out that it's the gsync + sli combo that causes it. Without sli and gsync : 51 fps With sli, without gsync : 99 fps With sli and gysnc : 68 fps Surely this is fixable, as it uses the exact same engine as bf1, and that game has no issue with the g-sync + sli combo.
It's weird, i found the Endor maps rather uninspired in Battlefront 2 compared to the first one. Couple exception aside, i prefer Battlefront 1 environment to Battlefront 2.
Not really. So do I, wonder why the first game had better graphics overall as well... AFK'ers are a huge issue in this game tho, at least in heroes vs villains it can be very frustrating as there's no way to kick them and they can keep standing there match after match.
Feels like they rushed some content, was pretty obvious when in the campaign they use the same map twice.. ! I just checked back, the maps i don't like in Battlefront 2 are Kashyyyk, Endor, Starkiller and Hoth.
Is there really no way to limit frames? RTSS doesn't even work anymore. The in game limiter only works on the menus.
Starkiller is an awful map, but i quite like the other ones... nostalgia for the original star wars perhaps. Starkiller is from one of those awful new disney films, that claims to be star wars, but is just a really bad remake of the original films... map layout on starkiller is just as bad as the new movies.
I used to really hate Starkiller due to the sniperfest it tends to turn into but then I recently learnt how to duck behind all the crates and parked Tie's in the middle instead of constantly running into brick walls from the sides on the first attack phase and its improved the map a bit for me. Crait is a map I really don't get on with at all.
Tried the game on Origin Access. So far I've just done Arcade mode which is cool since some of the maps are really great but some Tiers are really difficult and it seems quite random how the outcome will be. One was kill 30 enemies in 30 seconds, quite impossible unless you're lucky and they all show up at the same spot, but on the other hand they might kill you. Another tough one was with Droids that oneshot you. I've tried some MP and what I don't like is when you die "behind walls" which happens somewhat often. Graphics, music and all that sort of thing is of course great. DX12 didn't work well at all on my machine. The card system seems so stupid and pointless, idk. Not a game I'll buy.
As probably the only Guru who enjoys this game I thought I'd post about the latest update for the game. The game has an entirely revamped progression system now. Long story short, loot boxes are entirely for cosmetics ( which are beginning to roll out next month so atm you can't buy any loot boxes ), real money transactions are coming back but again can only be used for cosmetic items in the style of Overwatch. The entire progression system is now all about you playing the classes and heroes you wish to play and by doing so you unlock skill points whenever you level up which in return lets you unlock or upgrade a star card of choice. Some more details here : https://battlefront-forums.ea.com/d...-battlefront-ii-progression-update-faq#latest Patch notes here: https://battlefront-forums.ea.com/d...attlefront-ii-release-notes-update-2-0#latest While I didn't have any major issues with the previous system due to the epic star cards providing little benefit over some of their rare counterparts, I must say I prefer this system as it feels more like you're working towards something as you level up a class. My only nitpick is that upgrading cards to rare and epic has a level requirement which can suck a bit if you intend to play with just certain star cards but not a major issue seeing levels seem to rack up fairly quickly even if you suck with a certain class. As a bonus the game feels pretty damn balanced at the moment and now its just a case of ironing out a few niggles and obvious bugs.
This new system lets me gain upgrades in a much faster way than before. I need about 4 matches to get to the next level with the interceptor class atm, so i can level up 1 card to the next color. It also speeds up development of higher classes. Beforehand i would've used 480 resources to level up a blue card to purple. 480 resources used to be about 6 hero crates (with daily crates added). 6 crates = about 20 matches (in the top5 rank of all players). Now that takes just 4 matches if your class is on level 25 i think. Love it! What i've noticed since the update: there seem to be a lot of bad players who have no idea what objectives are. I'm losing a lot more matches than before. Seems like new players have started playing again or just bought this game.
One of the two, the other one being me. I too like the update, even though as far as upgrades go, I already have pretty much everything I need, so I'm more looking forward to the cosmetic items that will come in April. Game does feel a lot more polished and balanced and I was pleasantly surprised that they added the Bespin map from SWBF1 (really loved that map in first game)... it made for some hilariously fun Jet Pack Cargo rounds!
It does feel like theres been an influx of new players but I also think theres always been plenty of bad players around for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes players are just bad, sometimes they're new and still learning, sometimes they might have a personal objective like kill farming to unlock a new gun. I belong on the latter at the moment as I'm starting out with the Specialist class and while its fun to experience the game from a new angle as I almost never play snipers, its also immensely frustrating as I feel I'm not directly contributing to objectives seeing as I got a major boner for objective based gameplay and I'm usually the first one on the objective in any game. The real issue however in my opinion is the lack of team scrambling since in BF2 the games often turn into a roflstomp for one team. If the teams were scrambled on map change, this issue wouldn't be so bad but currently a team that dominates a game tends to carry on dominating map after map untill they get bored basically. Its a shame theres no Bespin map for Galactic Assault as I love all things Bespin. Spent hours playing the Bespin map in Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy but that map in BF2 and Jetpack Cargo is nuts! I kept flying off the map and into my death as I kept forgetting that you can't really steer once you launch yourself into the air so I just ended up quitting the game mode in frustration. The fact that I had had a few tins might have contributed to my unfortunate deaths but I choose to blame the game.
Indeed teams are something that's really missing in BF2 (and BF1). I think i heard they are thinking about making teams available via later updates. Also: if you're still stuck on resource points like i do, there's gonna be a patch in April that will give you 1 skill point for 40 resources. You can spend those points on any unit or vehicle you want. Which is great since its not that often you can fly hero ships for longer periods to level up fast. (i only play spacebattles ) Since i'll be busy with FC5 in April BF2 will become one of those short time fillers when i'm taking a break from other games. Shame really.
Yeah I have like 3.3k crafting parts that I hoarded when I was playing "hardcore", if it's 1 skill point for 40 Parts it would be awesome. Also have like 120k credits that I can't spend on anything atm.
