Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.8.1 Highlights
    Support For

    • Hyper Scape™
    • Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition for PC
    • Grounded™RS-338
      • The Epic preset on the Radeon™ RX 5700 XT offers up to 9% better FPS performance playing Grounded with Radeon™ Software Adrenalin 2020 edition 20.8.1 versus the Radeon™ Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.7.2.
    Fixed Issues
    • With Radeon FreeSync enabled, task switching to another display or application may intermittently cause the desktop refresh rate to be locked to an arbitrary interval causing stuttering.
    • Streaming and recording features are not working or are failing to enable on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products in Windows® 7 system configurations.
    • Radeon Software may experience an application crash or hang when waking from sleep after joining the AMD User Experience program.
    • DOOM™ Eternal may experience a very dark or dim screen when changing V-Sync settings in game with HDR enabled.
    • Hot plugging a powered off HDMI display and then powering on the display, may intermittently cause a system crash or hang.
    • Enabling Instant Replay may rarely cause a system hang or TDR on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products.
    • Compatibility Advisor may show an “Unable to get requirements” error message when opened. Users will need to perform a factory reset of settings in Radeon Software for this fix to take effect.
    Known Issues
    • With Radeon FreeSync enabled on Radeon RX 5000 series system configurations, task switching to another display or application may cause the display to flicker for a few moments.
    • Brightness flickering may be experienced on some VP9 video content playback through applications or web browsers on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics product system configurations.
    • Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.
    • Performance Metrics Overlay and the Performance Tuning tab incorrectly report higher than expected idle clock speeds on Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products. Performance and power consumption are not impacted by this incorrect reporting.
    • With HDR enabled, Windows® desktop may experience flickering, and performing a task switch while in a game may cause colors to become washed out or over saturated.
    • Audio may experience instability when connected through an Audio Video Receiver via HDMI® on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products
    • YouTube playback may become frozen with Microsoft® Edge player and Chrome™ when played on an extended display on some AMD Ryzen™ 7 3000 series and AMD Ryzen™ 4000 series APU system configurations.
    • Modifying the HDMI Scaling slider may cause FPS to become locked to 30.
    • AMD is investigating isolated reports of intermittent system hangs while exiting system sleep on some AMD Ryzen™ 3000 Series Mobile Processors with Radeon™ Graphics.
    • Some games may exhibit stutter intermittently during gameplay on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products.
    • AMD will continue to monitor and investigate any new reports of black screen or system hang issues during extended periods of gameplay closely. Users are encouraged to use the new Bug Reporting Tool for any issues they may encounter.
    Footnotes
    • RS-338, Testing by AMD Performance Labs as of July 28, 2020 using a test system configured with an Intel Core i9-9900K CPU (3.6GHz), 16GB DDR4-3200MHz memory, a Radeon™ RX 5700 XT graphics card and Windows 10 x64 with Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.8.1, and a similarly configured system with Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.7.2, to test driver over driver FPS performance using the game Grounded at 1920x1080 resolution. Performance may vary.
    Important Notes

It is with WHQL certificate according to dxdiag.
And without HAGS at least for VEGA.

Too many issues once again. Half of them affect me and I need workarounds. Meh, I won't blame covid19 AMD.

Profile for flight simulator 2020 in these in addition to the listed entries for horizon, grounded and hyper. :)
Should still be WDDM 2.7 compliant too although HWGPU scheduling is still not part of this probably needing more testing for compatibility issues.

EDIT: And since it's backwards compatible there's a newer Vulkan 1.2.148.0 runtime available now to mention that.

(Just the small 1.5 MB runtime not the complete SDK installer.)

???? According to GPUZ and Dxdiag it is WDDM 2.7 driver. Care to explain why you think it isn't 2.7 ?

Probably the GPU scheduling but I think it's optional, think I saw a mention AMD is also still not supporting one of those things for a WDDM 2.6 feature for I think it's the one in regards to tracked workloads but I'm not entirely sure on that one.
It'll land eventually, there's little use for it at the moment but it'll be useful once properly ready for implementation and whenever AMD/NVIDIA and Intel together with Microsoft can de-bug it better although it looks like it's getting there but some games are still prone to start-up issues going by some of the NVIDIA driver comments but I suppose there's more to it in the driver side implementation too so it may not be entirely comparable across what either of Green or Red are doing with it.

Or it might be, Microsoft probably has further plans for it later on but that's not happening anytime soon so late build 2021 or even 2022 for Win10 or later I would guess at the earliest but that might still be very optimistic for further additions here.

EDIT: It's a 2-3 ish percent performance boost which is neat but the compatibility problems I would say is a serious trade-off until resolved and the matter of requiring a full reboot and it being a global toggle for everything makes it a bit inflexible much as free performance is nice. :)

Although so far testing confirms that to be more like a best case scenario and overall it's a thing for future additions that otherwise does very little in it's current stage of implementation but it'll change.
Whatever that will mean, bit like a fast path for certain GPU scheduling commands and tasks that might be possible to expand into more but that won't be a easy or quick process or I wouldn't expect it to be.
(Changing things up rarely is after all much as it's beneficial to do so even when it takes like a decade for it to take effect in full heh.)

If that driver is stable and you suffer no bugs with it, keep using it.
There is no need to update, unless of course, you wanna play say, Horizon Zero Dawn.

Why? Is there any rule that indicates if a driver which does not mention support for a game you cannot play it? That "myth" somehow must stop between vendors and game community. :)

Well, BIG NO, but, performance penalties could arise. Or even bugs.
    Who know unless tested.
