Afterburner recording irregularities breaks Sony Vegas import - now with more images

Hi all,

So up until today I've been importing MJPG encoded .AVI files from Afterburner into Sony Vegas just fine. All is well. I did some recording today and suddenly was met with an error in Sony Vegas that read the following whenever I tried to import:

This is extremely strange because I do not remember changing any settings in Afterburner. The supposedly broken .AVI file also plays fine in VLC and VirtualDub. The headers are there so it isn't a case of "closing the game before stopping the recording".

I personally cannot tell the difference between a 'working' .AVI file and a non-working one. Below are some mediainfos grabs:

As you can see aside from the obvious differences relating to video length, etc., they seem to be identical.

So what seems to be the issue here? If I can recall the only difference that may have had an effect would be the fact that I updated from 2.3.0 to 2.3.1. Could that have been it?
