Trying to see how far i can push my Galax 970 before i put in the Asus Strix in and try SLI for the first time in my life.

I can't see the Strix being as fast as this by the looks of things.

You need to enable sli with every single driver in the nvcp after driver install, I ran 2 780ti on a oc 2600k, that cpu will feed 2 970 well.

Thanks, it seems to be copying ok so far and i'm only using a cheap CPU cooler to get to 4.8ghz, and sure i can go higher.

    http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/9033271?

    Score 18302
    Graphics Score 26616
    Physics Score 12219
    Combined Score 7051

Futuremark not keen on this hotfix driver though, but i doubt there were any changes compared to the last WHQL.

My 2600k 780ti sli benches are somewhere in here. 970 was a bit slower than my 780ti on release, now its a bit faster.

    Yeah you beat it.

Highest score to date! (1175/1675 @ 1.1v). If anyone can shed light on why its in invalid result (besides the Drivers), would be good to know!

Nice score and overclock PNeV. It literally performs the same as my 280X.

It isn't game stable, but manages to get through FireStrike. For games I use what is in my sig. I have the upgrade itch for something like a Fury Nitro but I am on the fence, is it worth buying in this gen when the newer gen is only a few months away? The only game on my radar which may warrant an upgrade is Doom in May. I already know what I have now will struggle with Rise of the Tomb Raider.

I had the same dilema about getting a Nitro R9 390. It was on sale, cheaper but in the end i desided to wait so i'll advice you to wait too. Polaris and Pascal are probably closer than we think.

Also, our Tahiti cards may start to struggle but these cards are still capable. It will even run Doom no doubt. ;)

Will just have to see when it releases, can't say for sure til then. Haven't got RotTR just yet seeing as there is still some performance issues that need ironing out (haven't played it but something about the Soviet Base & Geothermal Valley?). Its not worth buying games new any more, i'll get the GOTY edition at 50% at some point.
