I hope this is enough inspiration to go beyond the “classic haha" and blow it out of the water. :>) Time Spy 19,198 https://www.3dmark.com/spy/15337595 I still be peeling them potatoes....!!!
Got mine Friday, tried a lot different things realted to work and games this weekend and I am really happy with it so far. The CPU AIO is louder on high load even when GPU have a custom fan profile. Temp is around 72C after several hours with gaming, while work been around 68C. I like it warm where I work so the room ambient is at 27C, so it should be less I guess with lower room ambient temp. It is very big but luckily I have a large case. Sorry for the cable mess I still need to remove a couple cables after I removed two 2080Ti. Was a little lazy and kinda excited to try the 3090. I use a EVGA 1300 G3 that seems to handle it good even to there is only 2x8Pin on the GPU. But kinda curious what max recommended GPU power is when using 2x8Pin? Power Limit only goes to 105% but I think it scaled differently like the EVGA ones are. Want to try Auto OC or just increasing Power Limit to see how much extra performance I can have without passing GPU Power limit for 2x8Pin. I do not think Gigabyte would have added a higher Power Limit than what is safe, but again kinda wonder what others think before trying.
Aorus 3090 Master is one kickazz video card. Go girl!! Temps are fine, maybe a little high while working, but a heftier card there too. I run my fans at least 45% all the time and up them in games if needed. I know it sounds crazy but these are high performance video cards made for high usage situations. I turn up the fans to where I do not hear them and keep the card nice and cool when not gaming. Win win. 72 is golden while gaming. Don’t know about fan profiles as not a big FAN of them. If gaming on a heavy textured game, I just slap like 55% across the board on my fans and if running high up it to 65% or more.. Now that is lazy, :>). I found that individual sleeve 8-pin cables + cable combs are excellent for organizing cables. I believe you be in the 350 watt power window with the master. You really can not go wrong with the Aorus line.
Thank you I did try a little yesterday, looks like it is close to 350W by default. Tried to AutoOC a little since that gave me best result so far. ^^ Have to try what you said about organizing cables, I also been looking to find a case with better airflow. My motherboard already have support for AMD SAM so looking forward to try Nvidias version, just hope AMD will not lockout that option. So I am keeping a backup of all new bios versions from now on including the last one.
For anyone in the UK, 3090 FE are now available on in the Nvidia webshop! Just picked one up myself. Spent along time debating which to go, but I want the RT performance tbh, and while the AMD cards are strong contenders overall, I dont think they are quite there yet! Side note - it did make me smile a little that NV ensured they had supply on AMD's launch day
Congrats! I also came from Two RTX 2080Ti to Single RTX 3090. My Asus TUF 3090 also uses 2x8Pin. Hoping Nvidia's SAM will also work on TRX40 Motherboards.
FTW3 RTX 3090 Ultra has beaten all my expectations. Could not be more pleased. Here is where I think the sweet spot is: core voltage: 100% power limit: 107% temp limit: 91 core clock: +175 memory clock: +950 Port Royal: 14,267 http://www.3dmark.com/pr/507472 Time Spy: 19,503 http://www.3dmark.com/spy/15405609 Time Spy Extreme: 9968 http://www.3dmark.com/spy/15406420 Fire Strike Extreme: 22,245 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/24063041 Fire Strike Ultra: 13,353 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/24061936 V-Ray 5: 12,349 V-Ray Cuda: 1969 V-Ray RTX: 2911 Hope this helps other as a point of reference. :>)
Look what the postman brought me I new it was going to be big, but its like a breezeblock! You could do some serious damage with this thing! Hoping to get it tested this weekend, and then the wait for a waterblock to finish things off
I've been waiting for a Strix 3080 since launch day and today stock of 3090s hit stores in the UK so had a quick gander and ended up with a Gigabyte Aorus 3090 Xtreme. Phew! More excuses why here: https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/i-gave-up-waiting-for-a-3080.435306 So happy
Well done! Sure you'll love it. I too didn't want to wait forever for a 3080, and having seen the 6800xt performance and availability decided to just go for a 3090. As luck would have it the FEs came back in stock this week, which seem to be the only ones holding at msrp.
Hi Folks, Just joined, but been reading articles and downloading Ge-Force drivers from Guruof3D for years. I'm thinking of buying a 3090 of whichever flavour is suitably available/priced. I have a query of you more experienced than I could be gents. My mobo is a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master 1151 i9-9900K, CX750 PSU. It is only PCIe3. These 3090s are reportedly PCIe4, will they work in my machine, or am I floundering Thanks in advance for any replies. rotorhead
OK, well the 3090 is in, and just running a few benchmarks @ stock. This is with my 3950X also at stock: Time Spy: 18448 GPU Score: 19673 Time Spy Extreme: 9811 GPU Score: 10146 Port Royal: 12992 Graphics Test: 60.15 fps Looking at reviews the GPU scores seem a fraction on the low side. Might be my 3950X? Most review benchmarks seem to be running on intel or AMD 5000 series which tend to be a bit quicker in games.
Got Palit RTX 3090 GamingPro here for testing and must admit its almost half of size of my Asus RTX 2080Ti Strix OC with waterblock Just putting GPU through the paces and benchmarks, initial view or thoughts on that GPU, its power limited a lot, tried Port Royal and there GPU is bouncing or running at 0.906v most of the time, which means shunt mod is only option if I want higher power, temperatures with Bykski Waterblock and backplate are beautiful in 30-35°C Not sure on results yet, will post them later today or tomorrow Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
Hi there Yes Port Royal results are on lower side I would say, at stock clock I'm getting 13.2k, didn't done any TimeSpy benchmarks for now, still I'm looking for good BIOS for that card, because tried Gigabyte 3090 and that will disable one of my DP ports You will be power limited by stock RTX 3090 BIOS and if you are not scared of shunt modding then this is only option for higher power limit Sweet spot for RTX 3090 is around 450-500W Will do later tests and post my results there and you can compare there Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
Thanks, be interested in your scores. Yes I realised that the power would be a limiting factor in how high the card clocks. When its on water I'll see how far I can push it and then consider modding. I guess thats where the Asus strix cards have their benefit. I did consider one although they are as rare as hens teeth atm and the FE's came into stock so I jumped. Plus, im not sure the strix is really worth the extra they are going for right now... would have been another £300 on top of an already expensive card!
@MikeMK My scores: Port Royal stock are 13492 points(62.47 fps),OC will do 14008 points(64.85 fps),I think 14250 points will be possible with some more work on OC,but let's see Time Spy stock 18831 points/GPU score 20305 and OC: 19479 points Graphic Score 21161 Time Spy Extreme stock 9783 Points/10423 points and OC: 10104 points Graphic Score 10857 Hope this helps Thanks,Jura
