Using single 8-pin cable from PSU to feed dual 8-pin to 12 pin connector to GPU? The facepalm is strong on this one.

Have no idea how to thumbnail someone elses imgur upload, so spoilers it is.

maybe @Hilbert Hagedoorn can install a onclick image resizer plugin like the main site has. (maybe this works?)

When you upload the img on the bottom side of the edit window you can see the img with the options "thumbnail" and "full image".
    upload_2020-12-3_15-58-54.png

If you want to edit it, you need to go to "more options" to get the "advanced" edit window.

edit: thx for the "spoiler" btw.

You can upload it here, Guru3D has supported it for a while, works well.

Welp, I managed to snag a Zotac Trinity OC 3080 locally, 880 with taxes it was a really great buy.

as expected all runs @ 75fps locked on my monitor, so no complains, and since I run it frame limited, it barely gets above 50-60% power use in demanding games, but for my mindless genshin impact gaming, it stays in the 30%
all in all, I'm satisfied with the purchase.

in Control everything maxed out 2560x1080 without DLSS it still does 75fps locked almost all the time, but sometimes dips to high 60s in heavy fighting scenes, power pegged to almost 100% all the time though.

also it boosts to 1950mhz in almost all games, don't think I need to OC anymore

Managed to snag Gigabyte 3080 Eagle for around 755 EUR with tax, awaiting delivery.

    *update* Just arrived :)

*update2* Plastic look really cheap and ugly, but its relative silent and have zero coil whine which is big improvement compared to FE I borrowed before.

Count me in. Running 1905mhz and well undervolted, -14c and a loss of around 2-5FPS on average. I'm very sad about my loss.

    *insert "fine wine" joke*

At +175 on my ASUS TUF OC, 2.15-2.2 GHz 3D clocks.

Gained like 10% compared to STOCK (FE Speed) which puts me on 3090 level.

Had the card for almost 9 weeks now :p
Paid 699 dollars including Watch Dogs Legion ...

Probably pulls 350-360 watts at this OC

Did a default OC scan with Asus tool and got 2040 on GPU clock and 19004 on memory clock temperature max 69 no instabilities during run seems legit

FE owners, there is a newer VBIOS available that brings the fan curve more in line with the 3090 (and version parity)

Welp Undervolted the card using the Frequency Curve Editor in afterburner... @Unwinder Mad props like always

    1,985 @ 915mv from 1.08v

now card boosts basically 1965-1985 all the time @ 91%-94% (about 290w) power utilization from high 1800s and 99-105% TGP (320-335w+)

That's really good. What exact settings did you apply?

I've got a somewhat stable 1950Mhz at 950mV but I'm not happy with it. Downclocked -165MHz and pushed the 950mV up to 1950Mhz.

my bad, apparently it's that 1980@930mv (although not sure if that's what the actual closest position it falls into or if I set it that way, I know the curve moves after clicking apply AND rebooting)

I just moved the curve to the left until it started crashing @ 880-890mv region, and pulled it back, and flattened the rest of the curve so it stops looking for a higher boost and crashing
