Yep (example from one Finnish reseller):

RTX 2080 Ti costs TWO TIMES what GTX 980 Ti cost when released, give or take.
    And even that felt expensive.

I am gonna wait to see how the RTX series benchmarks from multiple sources before I make a decision. Need to see the RTX in the wild in consumers hands.

Funny stuff, everyone and their sister is complaining about the prices yet the results clearly show that the majority are opting for the most expensive card.

if I had money to burn I would go after a 2080ti, but i dont I just spent 450 on 1070ti, which gona have to last for 2 or 3 years, and the 6700k system I built is gona have to last 4-5 years, 1070ti is only the 2nd time I spent that kind cash on GPU first time was on 670ti, I returned that with in 25 days due massive loud cooler and price of admission was not worth to me cause I only play 60fps which 660gtx did fine with room to spare. Right now I dont think 1070ti was worth it, but I bought that ( bought 299$ 1060gtx which more then fine for what I need then saw evga say for 150 more i can set up to a 1070ti shortly after then prices got jacked up everywhere )when I was deal stupid BS crap so I started spending money on thing as means to deal.

1080ti was 600-620e from that 750-800€, after 6-8months., Why wouldn't it be any different here.. also these 1200are all pre-order prices. Once it releases it will be lower too..

2080Ti from 1070..I don't like the idea of upgrading to a card with the same amount of VRAM(2080).

Isn't it obvious? People who can afford it (or are willing to pay for it) are buying the Ti.
The rest are complaining, me included :)

well some of us voted here because this post was made before the price reveal and announcement, in my case i said i was going to opt for the 2080ti because as usual, the ti versions comes a year later, didn't expected to come inmediatelly after the 2080.

At those prices, none. $1.2K USD, WTF, I'm not surprised considering it's a monopoly, but still. We all know this "2080 Ti" is not going to be anywhere near the full chip, it's set as a luxury priced high end item when in fact it's going to be a severely cut down chip that would have been mid-ranged in the past, fitting into the x60 category. Suck a dick nVidia.

Hang in there little buddy 1080 Ti, you got a few years of hard labour left to do. Maybe one day AMD will sell graphics cards, and then you'll be free at last!

I'm not falling for their gimmicks anymore, I fell for the SMP gimmick offered with the 10 series, at the time I had been using triple screen for years. To this date I have only seen one game use it as advertised. (iRacing) So I dispersed the monitors to my kids PC's and upgraded to 1440p and 4k. My 1080's will last a while longer@1440p and 4k. The whole Ray Tracing and AI assisted AA thing seems great, but not enough to justify this price hike from previous series, especially if the whole 1080p 30fps is anywhere near what we can expect with all the knobs turned on in ROTR. Waiting for real hardware reviewers to post their results and then maybe...

Im looking to get the 2080Ti (coming from a 1080Ti) but I need to know first how the 2080Ti will fare on RTX games on my 3440x1440@120hz monitor
Im worried the 1080@60fps rumours are true and I wont be able to enjoy the ray tracing feature on my monitor

3440x1400 even at 60fps for Ray tracing and im sold

That will be possible only if a game supports DLSS and RTX. Otherwise 1080P@60 at best.

Watched the keynote live with money in hand for the Ti. The prices came up and that was a no for me. I understand that the Ti in reality is the Titan which I never bought anyway.

The 2080 doesn't provide a viable enough upgrade for me (1080) me thinks (we'll see), judging by the specs.

RT I don't care about at all as it won't de decently doable for another two generations. DLSS does interest me though.

  16. Agreed, I'm not here to do R&D for Nvidia & if I was they'd be paying me not the other way around.

Come release to market they need to have this tech laid-out down-pat (RTX 2xxx strikes me as un-refined); they're marketing it as a 4K gpu. This is why I haven't pre-ordered. The unusually obscure keynote at Gamescom that Jensen gave followed later by news of a "Geforce-Review-Program" as it were with Nvidia-approved vetting sounds like they're looking to cook RTX reviews. Hire an independent agency to vet if they must, after GPP I'm wary of a lot.

If people didn't already have normal common sense as a reason to wait for real-world independent reviews they sure as s**t do now, in my opinion. Moreover it will depend on studios to implement raytracing in future games in response to increased scale & efficiency of future hardware in computer and console markets that support accelerating it. Realtime-Raytracing won't remain PC-exclusive, it's in the DirectX SDK. MS will likely push for it on their next-gen console refresh.

I picked GTX2080ti, as for me it's the only logical upgrade. That doesn't mean I'm going to buy one in the next 12months, unless there's a huge price-drop.

However, this time next year it could be the RTX2180/3080, if the price is right.
