I'm trying to play multiplayer internet for the first time. All the downloads are soo slow. Is that a one time thing? And how do I read the ping rates for better gameplay? Any other information would be appreciated thanks.

What kind of internet connection are you using???
Did you set up UT correctly for your connection speed in the settings menu???
Downloading (new skins/maps) is only once. If new game maps/models etc are added then download will occur.

Cable, I'll check the settings menu but if I remember correctly I did set cable.
Any advice on gameplay would be nice. I toasted the game except the last guy. In multiplayer (I got on tonight) I got wasted! I do have tomorow off I'll have to practice.

This message was edited by Bugsy on 17 Apr 2001 06:36 PM

Unreal Tournament's a legendary game. Here's just a quick tip (you may know it already). If you tap your left/right strafe key twice you do a quick jump sideways. If you double-tap the walk forward/backward key, you leap forward/back.
It should show you the ping times for each server in the server browser in the game (the screen that displays all servers). If it doesn't show them maybe you've disabled them somehow.Anyways, have fun playing it.
Till next time,
