You are probably gonna need a Skulltrail with 2 quads clocked at 5ghz per core to max out the performance on that TRI-SLI bench

Well seeing as tomorrow is the 1st of April, the release of the 9800 GTX, I'm going to say it's the GTX.

Hopefully we'll get to see how Tri-SLI of the 9800GTX stacks up to the Quad-SLI of the 9800GX2 soon. :D

9800GX2 in sli with another 9800GX2?

Looks like that, same coolers, similar sizes and the sli connectors are what looks like the right place not to forget the power connectors! :D

There are clearly 3 cards there. All connected. It will definitely not be 2 x 9800GX2.

    It's 3 x 9800 GTX. I will eat my boxers if it's not!

there's clearly not 3 cards there so it must be either 2x 9800GX2 or 2x 9800GTX. No tri-sli in the picture at least. The coolers look like GX2's, but there's only 2x 6pin connectors, no 8-pin so...GTX review? Whatever it is, when Hilbert hypes it like this it usually turns out pretty good.

Well unless ive caught malaria and gone blind I still only see two cards.

And FYI its not really that clear, anyway.

its 2 cards but the power connector is different to a gx2.

my money is on 2x 9800gtx which is gonna be identical to 8800gts unless nvidia have gotten all 'creative' :D

It's definitely 2 9800GTXs in the picture. There is only a single SLI Bridge, and it is only connected to one of the two SLI connectors on each card.

9800GX2 only has 1 SLI connector. And for it to be 3 cards you would need the Tri-SLI Bridge, which is obviously not in the picture. Plus you can make out the middle PCI-E x16 connector between the 2 cards. ;)

Damn, you guys are right. My apologies on being a complete idiot. I could have sworn that there were 3 cards then, and 2 SLI bridges.

Sigh. I think that guy in Specsavers was lying to me when he said "20/20 vision" :(

Well, I have no idea then. It is either the Quad SLI Hilbert was promising, or it is the GTX (since it's its release date tomorrow) in SLI.

    This is probably the pre-overclocked 2x 9800GX2

No sarcasm this time, but ..... tomorrow is April 1st so ... expect anything

EDIT: Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on April 1, 2008 - 3:38 AM

Ok even for him that was april first

So my guess is still on GTX, they supposed to be released tomorow right ?
Hilbert's picture is probably just to mess with us guys :(
