I'm curious to see how the RMA numbers look after 6 months from release. That should shed the proper light on whether there's an actual issue, or it's just perception.

Mine is going strong too, played a lot lately and very happy with the performance.

Had a bit of a fright however when loading up doom ex, powerslave ex and quake darkplaces. There was huge black blocks covering the screen. Turned out it's related to colour compression but all I did was delete the cfg file and that fixed all 3 so panic over

Feel sorry for those still bitching about the card.

Mines back up and running with the replacement GPU.

So far so good, no funky colours :)

when are the 3080ti cards out :D I always skip a Gen as the 2080ti is only 25% faster than my 1080ti, hopefully the 3080ti will be at least 50% faster and worth the money?

No one knows exactly. We didn't even know these cards were coming out until they pretty much came out.

I think the next gen could be a year and a half from now, so quite shorter time compared to this generation. Mostly thanks to widespread 7nm in 2019.

Yes, I'd like that. They probably tape out a refresh on 7nm before they introduce a real architectural advancement again (tick tock), so I believe we might see an updated Turing GPU branch in 2020.
I'm curious to see how the prices develop for new cards though... something in me refuses to believe they keep up the price for the 2080TIs on this level for 2 years.

I think prices are here to stay unfortunately. Will depend on AMD within the next two years i guess ?

I'm afraid when AMD launches their offerings, they won't outperform 2080/2080TI... for me personally they'd have to beat the 1080TI (I don't expect them to do that except with their top card maybe), or force the prices on the 2080TI down (I don't expect that to happen at all).
So all in all I think I won't upgrade my GPU in four years... which makes me silly enthusiast unhappy. That's why I'm hoping they'd drop prices down in 2019, but that would only work if the next RTX30xx series is already around the corner...

Don't expect 7nm consumer GPUs before 2020. Also, prices are here to stay. Every ''premium'' product costs 1000$ or more now(Smartphone, GPU etc).

Prepare to maybe say goodbye to some of that resolution you're playing at :(

For that I'd need to buy a new monitor, so spend even more to run 1080p? :D
Or what did you have in mind?

Well 1440p non-widescreen it is. But I'm running eye candy, I bought a gsync monitor for a reason. :D
But I think any insecurity about how the pricing of the 2080TI as only upgrade (besides the Titan) that would make sense will develop will be solved, when the next series' 1080TI is released and we know for sure :D
Don't get me wrong, I'd probably have bought a 2080TI when it was released if it only was 300€ cheaper, it's a great card, and I hope people love it for the sake of kick ass PC hardware geek loving, it's just... a personal point of view.

I'm guessing 144Hz? :> Then sure, the 1080Ti is too weak to get those 144fps at all times :D (been there myself).

I would have bought it as well for €300 less, no problem. If nVidia (or MSI or ASUS and so on), right now, would give me a €300 discount voucher for a 2080Ti I would instantly buy a card.

Oh, yes of course, that too, 144Hz. Sure I can't get them with the 1080TI in games like BF5 for instance, but yeah Gsync, and also there's always the option not to play eye candy :D
Yeah... I mean, I'd even go as far as saying I'd grab a watercooled card to put into my loop for 1.200$... but that's about the same situation, give me a voucher for 300$ discount to make that happen...
