Hi everyone, I've been using RivaTuner to force my laptop's nVidia GeForce 9300M GS into Standard 2D mode for longer battery life. However, if I want to play a game or use an external monitor (using standard 2D mode with two monitors forces 16-bit color), I need to go back to at least Low Power 3D mode. So far, each switch necessitates a complete reboot of the machine. Is there any way to get rid of this requirement? Maybe it's not really necessary, but rather just a precaution that the RivaTuner author put in? I haven't found a registry switch in the Power Users section that would allow me to turn off the required restart... Any ideas?
The registry switch is being read by NVIDIA driver during OS startup only. So reboot is an absolute must.
