    Hi everyone,

I've been using RivaTuner to force my laptop's nVidia GeForce 9300M GS into Standard 2D mode for longer battery life. However, if I want to play a game or use an external monitor (using standard 2D mode with two monitors forces 16-bit color), I need to go back to at least Low Power 3D mode.

So far, each switch necessitates a complete reboot of the machine. Is there any way to get rid of this requirement? Maybe it's not really necessary, but rather just a precaution that the RivaTuner author put in? I haven't found a registry switch in the Power Users section that would allow me to turn off the required restart...

    Any ideas? :)

The registry switch is being read by NVIDIA driver during OS startup only. So reboot is an absolute must.

That's a pity. Thanks for clearing that up though...
