We talked about the upcoming respin from AMD quite a bit already. It seems that the GPUs however might get a slight advantage as AMD seems to be moving towards a newer LLP (low power plus) fabrication process at Global Foundries....

Hm, maybe they aren't simple rebadges then. This should be interesting.

This is very interesting as I'm looking for a card(s) to drive FreeSync on my monitor without doing some extreme downgrading. Maybe AMD will offer something to replace this heat oven of a 980Ti SLI.

Probably not RX 580. But Vega should be pretty cool (hot) on 14LPP.

The official clock for the RX580 will be 1340Mhz.
At the previous RX480 was 1266Mhz.

My Gigabyte G1 RX480 easy and stable at 1380Mhz at 185W. Preatty good.

I really look forwared for the new version. TDP propably 125W.

If it has any where near the same performance as the 480 their would be riots in the streets!!! It would be the biggest mistake in the history of AMD!, excluding the last decade.

Hopefully it got some of the Vega architecture improvements.

The RX 480 needs water :)

EK Supreme "Hwbot ed." holds the RX silent under 40`c and with 1400mhz core and stock voltage on my Sapphire RX480 Nitro+ 8GB.

Maybe the new fab will make a slightly higher clock, energy eff will pro be lower aswell

My Sapphire Nitro+ sits at 1350mhz and 2100mhz RAM - eats around 150W according to GPU-Z.

I hope for a bit more performance in the 500 series - could be a good upgrade path for many.

And it makes sense. The RX480 was tarnished by being "OMG NOT AS GOOD AS 1080" and being slightly powerhungry (despite consuming not much more and no less than the competing performance products (1060, 970, 980, actually outperforming the 970 and 80 in pr/w)).

Rebranding with a bit of tweaks to the 500 series and giving them better performance, with possibly the same powerdraw as previously, but with a 8 pin connector and none of the "OMG IT MIGHT BREAK MY 10 YEAR OLD MOBO" phantom scares, is a good strategy from AMD.

I putt my gpu buy on hold last year and admit: I'd be very pissed if they just renamed the card because I really want one. Better power efficiency and slightly more performance is what will make me buy one. Probably a 570. My freesync monitor needs it and I'm tired of playing at 60hz (****s my eyes good).

Sadly I only see the top tier GPU's being the ones with the new fab process. If they bring back the fury/fury x or make 590 and 590x versions, and the rest being re-brands. I hope I am wrong.

Whenever nvidia has done this, lowered the fab, increased the hz, but overall been the same "technical" GPU, people have claimed it was a rebadge. I don't expect anything different with this one.

    XFX GTR RX 480@1400 MHz max 120 W . Normally eating up 100-110 W @1400 MHz.

    Stock(1288) @70-100 W.

AFAIK, XFX paid to have the best silicon. They are the 480s to get.

Actually the xfx card only measure gpu usage and not as a whole including vram so tdp seems lower

Would be nice to see something around 2500 shaders and a slight clock increase to somewhat close the gap between the gtx 1070, if it is just a slight clock increase then there's not really much to see here though I am a fan of price decreases.
