Well, I don't have any pictures to post cuz my wife would have me committed for it....but I just started running F@H on the rig in my sig this weekend. I had to stop before cuz I couldn't get temps stable. With my Corsair H50 + GTX460...temps seem to be good for folding....GPU is only hitting 60C, whereas my GTX275 was getting to 86C. Will try to get pics when the wife isn't looking..

@sykozis: Maybe you can try to reduce the Core and Memory Frequencies and see if that reduces the temperatures. F@H is mostly depended on Shaders rather than Core and Memory. Most dedicated folders OC the Shaders to maximum while keeping the Memory and Core at stock or as low as possible while ensuring that it is F@H Stable. YMMV so it is best to experiment with your setup.

My GTX460 is doing better at folding than my GTX275 ever did. Estimated 9.6k PPD on the GTX460...6.5k PPD was the best my GTX275 ever managed.....plus 20C temp drop at idle and load.

    GTX460
    33-35C idle
    60-63C load

    GTX275
    53-56C idle
    80-85C load

@sykozis, is your gtx460 the 768MB or the 1GB version.
also, what clock speeds are you running.

@kabel1985: You may want to remove the Floppy cable (White/Cream colour). Also dusting the case might do your system some good :)

A GTX275 should (could) do 9000PPD as well (depending on what WU tho) something must of been wrong with the setup..
    but yea the GTX460 is a great card for F@H , my 768Mb does 10550PPD (overclocked) :)

    O hello btw ....

Welcome to the Guru3D F@H Forum Foldinator

To clarify that statement, there are some factors which are:
WU type (you have stated that)
Shaders' Frequency (OC of Core and Memoray doesn't help F@H that much yet)

Also another important factor that you may have overlooked is the F@H GPU Client type. Currently there are two:
GPU2 Client - Stable and works on Non-Fermi GPUs only. PPD can be ~9000
GPU3 BETA Client - BETA (but mostly stable) works on Fermi & Non-Fermi. PPD of Fermi GPUs can be >8000 but PPD for Non-Fermi can be <8000.

Here are my results from GTX 260:

    GPU2 WUs:
    Min. Time / Frame : 00:01:18 - 8,673.23 PPD
    Avg. Time / Frame : 00:01:22 - 8,250.15 PPD

    GPU3 WUS:
    Min. Time / Frame : 00:01:20 - 6,598.80 PPD
    Avg. Time / Frame : 00:01:24 - 6,284.57 PPD

My guess is that sykozis was comparing GPU3 WUs and you mistook it as GPU2 WUs.

My GTX275's make 8600 - 8800 ppd on GPU2 set up (stock clocks).

But did drop in to the 6000 - 7000 ppd when I ran GPU3 for a while...
    (GTX470 = 13000+ ppd oc 701/1402 stock volts).

    Hey thanks man :)
been lurking some time now thought it was time to move in...

OT: Yup you are more then right about that on all factors !
pretty sure he was using the GPU3 client also tested it with one of my GTX260's (GPU2 vs GPU3)...

I should get some photos of the boxes updated soon
(I have to clean them up and do some cable management before I go public)

Looks good. It's amazing how much more open the inside a case looks going from an air cpu cooler to a water block.

I'll try and post a couple picks of mine after I get the new board in. Thinking about going to a duel loop setup. Running a single loop now.
