when are the 95w versions coming ? , my mobo supports the 1055t but not the 125w version . not sure why it does not support the already released x6 which are the 125w versions lol , yet it supports upto the 140w phemons ?
i was worried about that because i bought a 1090t, and my mobo didnt list it either, yet this person is using it with a 4.0 ghz overclock. I Didnt know if i could post links so i copied the text from another forum. " GA-MA790XT-UD4P 1090T support? Not listed as a supported CPU on the GB website. Think support coming? I hope they don't leave it off The latest BIOS added support for the six-core CPU's. The BIOS required is F8C. Someone on this site is using an x6 in one yes. Make sure you're flashed to the newest Bios (F8c maybe?) and youshould be good. Hey thanks guys, did not see it supported so was questioning it. Gigabyte's website is not updated...lol. You should be good with the latest BIOS, F8c. Download and update to F8C as that is what I am using which supports the 1090T just fine.''
WTF man, with all due respect, kapu is right on this one. You review doesnt show this problem. I almost jumped on the wagon and bought the X6 cpu. But i would have been assraped because i'd better get a i5 750 for what i want (gaming with CF) Hilbert, can't you take some good critisism? Everybody here is trying to prove him wrong when apparently he seems to be right. I wouldnt call that trolling, sir. I'll need to do some digging now, because the guru3d review doesnt have the numbers i'm looking for.
Thanks Hilbert, I enjoyed this review. I'm building my first computer from scratch this time instead of buying one from Cyberpower. I've bought three from them including the one I have now. I bought the Phenom II X6 1090T CPU and Crosshair IV MB about a week ago. Then I ran into this review and forum. I saw the components you used in the benchmarks and they were the same as I had intended to get except the vid card. I was going to use the 5770 in crossfire but now I will use the 5870 in crossfire. I don't know anything about overclocking and all that stuff but want to learn so I joined this forum to learn how. I'll look forward to more of your reviews, thanks.
Any platform would greatly improve the computing performances over that old A64 single-core (what is it? s939? come on). My last setup was a A64 3500+ and the performance differences is night and day in anything i throw at it compared to mine (now outdated) s775 system. You are wrong to claim that "the games are so GPU bound that it's pointless". With that setup of yours, you can't even run any of the games used for the review benchmarking. So how can you even so boldly claim that. Ow lemme guess, you read it on the internet.... And to boldy announce that you're going to stay with that dinosaur setup... Well have fun to you sir. But nobody cares. PS = You system (A64-3200+ & GF6150) can't even keep a sustained 60fps at high graphical settings + 4xAA on a 10 year old Q3 mod that happens to be one of the favorite game that i'm running on this and the old A64-3500+ setup. So please, what the h*ll are you talking. But to get back on the topic: These 6-cores AMD is sure bang for bucks when it comes to encoding. I wonder or it's just as good at media content creation (Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, etc.) as it does at CPU based video encoding. I'm wondering about that because of the huge differences in memory bandwidth performances.
might not be the best bench to compare things but here is a bench of a guy with a 1090T and me with the AthlonII (I'm in the top 2 there). We both have the same GPU, but mine is overclocked to almost the maximum on air. The first score even has me at a lower CPU overclock just to test things out even more. http://plastic-demo.nazwa.pl/wordpr...res=Full+HD+(1920x1080)&multisampling=CSAA+8x Long story short, do you really need 6 cores? naaah. Save your money for more GPU power all the way. On this bench, I handicap myself even more by disabling one core and still made it to the top with moderate GPU overclocks. http://plastic-demo.nazwa.pl/wordpr...HD+(1920x1080)&multisampling=CSAA+8x(Quality)
