even that its an improvement, still just realtek 1150. after switching to dedicated card (again), i will never use onboard. do have sennheiser cans, and sub 100$ speakers/cans might not really show the difference..
Asus said the same thing for the x99 deluxe, they made a huge fuss about the quality of the onboard audio. But I tried using my old SB X-FI titanium , it was like I just removed ear muffs from my ears. The quality is so much higher on a dedicated audio card which is disappointing as asus actually makes some very good dedicated audio cards, I guess they dont want to render them obsolete. Btw, I also have Sennheiser headsets, the HD 598.
