Not sure how important this really is, but Intel will be dropping that unique Core i9-9900K / Core i9-9900KS dodecahedron package, which we assume was a bit of a challenge for shops and distributors... Intel Drops the Core i9-9900K dodecahedron package
Heh. Thanks to this plastic package having a corner chipped off and being slightly cracked during transport (but was otherwise sealed), my local PC store sold me my 9900K for half the price a bit over a year ago. I guess such deals won't be possible anymore.
My i9-9900K dodecahedron package is in pristine condition. The packaging really stood out on counter top or behind glass in store displays.
its just a box to transport it in and most likely destined to be trash anyways so i doubt anyone will care.
I always found it a bit ironic that Intel put an 8-core in a 12 sided box yet only AMD has a 12-core CPU in the normal desktop line. Maybe AMDs refresh chip the 3900XT needs a dodecahedron box?
