    Ok guys, whats the best 970's right now. They have been out a while, so who is really happy? ... I'm getting ready to get 1 just wanted some direction to go and stuff to look at. I usually go EVGA, but if there is something better I'll consider.

    The Gigabyte G1 Gaming, the EVGA FTW+, and the MSI Gaming ones are the only ones I'd look at currently.

    You will see most of your GPU with cpu overclocking up to 4.4 , anything more of this values doesn't worth the heat and the benefits are more "cosmetic" (to games) and very little boost.

    Hello friends.

    I recently got my first Nvidia card and joined the group with a EVGA GTX970 SSC ACX 2.0.

    The card is amazing, but there is something that is bothering me a little bit, though I think I'm probably just being paranoid about it.
    Its the dBi fan profile thing...

    I live in a hot place, so idle temps with fans at 0º are usualy around 45º to 50º. I know the fans only start spinning at bout 65º, its how the card is built so well this isn't supposed to be a problem, but still these idle temps kinda bothers me.

    Doesn't it decreases the lifespan of the card? Or this is all good and its just my head still thinking with "old cards" mentality and just not used to the new technology yet.

    Even using your card at 80c should not degrade the lifespan of the card really.. if its idling at 45 or 50 you shouldn't worry even a bit.

    No problem at all. Idle temps of older cards (pre-2010) were very commonly around 60c or higher. My nephew still has an 8800gts 640mb card I gave to him a few years ago, it idles at 64c. Most common thing to fail on a card are the fans. So smart design decision on keeping them off below 65c.

    I see.
    Thank you both for the quick replies.
    I guess i'm a bit paranoid with temps.

    @IcE & Odellot
    Thanks! I'm pretty much contented with its performance so no overclocking for now. :)

    I have had mine for about 2 weeks now. It's like night and day compared to my GTX 460.
