Well according to Hardware Unboxed MSI confirmed it's because of PCI-E 4 and that the fan will spin only under heavy io on a PCI-E 4 nvme drive. Remain to be seen if it's true but that's what MSI apparently said to them.
Games would load pretty fast, if you remove the splash screens. I suppose it could help 4k video editing as well, with the 8TB size.

Why is 4k qd1 slowly... or rarely improves? Is it because it is hard to improve 4k speed? Maybe people are clueless and they think seq speed is all that matters? I am a bit confused, but I would love to see improved 4k qd1 speed.
False. SATA vs NMVe SSD load time is SIMILAR in load times. And we speak of 6x differences. There will be NO difference with this drive either.

If you want instant load times, just buy 128GB of memory and don't close games, just do alt-tab. Just like Android is doing.
again, i'm very impressed with the leg work done by AMD in prepping the field for x570/Ryzen 2. the long lead times involved means the partners were brought on at the early ES stage, after proof of yield(s). that is amazing to me as the (predictable) leaks didn't happen... and perhaps more than a degree of gamesmanship from AMD with (maybe) a hint of a disinformation to muddy the waters pre-release. the ability to get the partners to go along without leaks is most impressive, perhaps because now the partners also have bragging rights...
You have to realize how many GB you need to load for the average game. Once you realize it usually under 2GB and with sata you get about 1/2 a GB per second it simply doesn't matter much. I can tell a little difference when I switched over to me m2 drive but its hardly noticeable.
