    They MUST be the same as 260.89 Beta but... There is a poll.
    They require a restart when upgrade ( clean install ) from beta.

    Well the release notes are identical(260.89 beta vs 260.89 WHQL). No point trying these if you're already using the beta drivers, IMO.

    BETA
    DriverVer = 10/08/2010, 8.17.12.6089
    CatalogFile = nv_disp.CAT
    WHQL
    DriverVer = 10/08/2010, 8.17.12.6089
    CatalogFile = NV_DISP.CAT

    How are these compared to the previous official ones, 258.96?

    IMO these are the best of the 260xx drivers by far, and they are also better than the 258.96 drivers; at least on my system.

    Nope.. I'm wary of dev drivers, and quadro, tesla etc..

    In my experience, they tend to be slower, and in the case of the dev drivers, bug ridden....which is expected since they are for developers only.

    Carfax , i've tested 8 newish games , 3 benchmarks and i have a stash of emulated titles and not a single bug. Yes i agree they are slower but only in certain games but the quality bar has raised hence the slower frames i guess.

    Worth trying though , because even Nvidia(ManualG) Said to give these a try!

    Well I might give them a try later..

    I'm just glad that the new 260.89 is better than the 258.96. I was getting worried a bit because the first 260.xx drivers were terrible on my system..

    Nvidia needs to squeeze as much performance from drivers as much as possible, since AMD's 6000 series will be out soon.

    same problem with coreavc loads of stuttering even with the developers version

    The betas worked great on my system, except for one annoying issue. I use a bit darket gamma setting for my desktop, as my LCD is a bit too bright for my taste. Previous 258.xx series automatically applied the gamma update on each reboot. The betas did not. Lets see if these have fixed that issue or not. But other than that, no issue so far.

    The problem I have with beta and WHQL above 258.96 is with MSI afterburner. A terribly stuttering if I leave hardware monitor in most of games: sttutering between 60fps and 59. Constantly. See 60-59-60-59...and the gameĀ“s experience become unplayable.

    I have to disable hardware monitor, and then all OK...

    Use GPU-z, problem solved. I myself noticed weird stuttering and freezing when afterburner was running in the background. Removed it and no more freezing.
