    RIP

I think my psu is acting up too lately, it's ok if I don't oc the gpu, but if I do it could hard freeze buzz the system @Destiny 2. When I tried to reset it then shutoff and restarted.

It's ok no extra oc, although that oc was ok with metro exodus @dx12.

I mostly or only oced vram a bit 130mhz and gpu tiny bit extra 13mhz on top of 1405mhz

I would have expected metro exodus to crash, I mean I had all bells and whistles enabled incl hw physx and hair, but no was ok for almost 2hrs, destiny crapped at around 1hrs.

You are lucky! Long ago my wife managed to blow up a chipset in the home notebook.

I cannot decide between 2 jokes for this:
1.) In Germany, wifes blow other things .... just saying. :D

    OR

2.) ... and since then you identify as a chipset?! :D

Lucky for me the rig works again, thanks for all thumbs pressed. :)

Now please focus on @WhiteLightning again. I really didnt want to take over his thread!
    (Sorry mate if I did)

    Rest in peace little 2600k.

I’m still waiting for my EVGA X58 SLi motherboard and i7 980X to let loose the magic smoke after 10 years of running @4.3GHz but it just keeps on going!

Don`t worry. WhiteLightning is most probably very busy reading AMD reviews, guides, forums - preparing himself for the arrival.

My wife managed to blow up a sanding machine by just using it...

"Honey, is this thing supposed to smoke?"

"Depends, from the inside or outside?"

    :p

(Not her fault though, was a piece of crap anyway. Besides I'm more than happy she can handle some crafts on her own).

Here's a short video to make you forget your woes.[IMG]

You too? I have two of these boards, E758s. One is still brand new in box, the other my Nephew uses daily and leaves on 24/7. 980X as well at...4.3...ha ha. It's still on the same Corsair 120mm AIO with push/pull fans.

Those boards do seem pretty bomb proof, the 980X still puts out some decent performance for such and old chip as well.

He actually plays VR games with it using my old 980 Ti. The only 'upgrade' was it needed a USB 3 interface for the VR. $15 PCIe card fixed that.

    RIP little guy.

When my FX 9370 and Crosshair V Forumla Z died, I hung them on the wall.

Also have one but as a Westmere E Xeon, paired with 24gb ram its still a decent system. Gpus like 980ti runs nicely in there.

Totally looking forward to it, just waiting for Liquid lab ultra to arrive now.

Yeah 9 years is a extremely long time. I have had Dual cores and Quad cores before this, but this was the first time when things felt OK to live with :D

hehe thanks! No i haven't succeeded with the script, I continued my Firefox Black script in the weekend, since that was more enjoyable for me. I got a headache from the script since I dont know how to script and dont know how to debug properly, so it was just trying things randomly i found on the net.

Thanks everyone else! hopefully ill get my paste soon, so I can reinstall windows. Fresh hardware smell always me excited (what is in there ?? lol).

here is a pic of the case minus the cooler and gpu because of missing paste.

Call for help with script, if needed.

I also went for Phanteks case, but a bigger one - Enthoo Primo. (Even though I watch many reviews I was not ready for its size and weight.)
