This is cool as all hell!

When you come into the office and drop this beast on your desk, heads are sure to turn!

I can't however see how this is more practical than using a normal workstation through a remote terminal.

You probably need a trolley just to drag this thing around, especially with all 6 screens.

 

LOL 1 for my needs would cost 73,000$ hahaha

I'm sure researchers in very remote locations would love one... being able to analyse their data in-situ instead of having to wait for weeks to send them to datacenters and waiting results.
Think: Antarctica bases, or some remote island... or even on the space station !
Internet bandwidth in those places is usually very low.

At least until Starlink is operational 24/7 all over the world, this could have some customers !

From my experience analysis with this type of machine requirements usually requires entire clusters of machines, as anything you could do on 1 workstation is often not that time-consuming and can often be just done on a more compact PC with just extra waiting time.

Perfect for pro mobile unit... (and yes it is really expensive... but when the result is the only target, it's not important)

 

The 7 people that actually need this would gladly throw the asking price at this hardware.

The choice between setting up multiple pro-workstation at multiple locations and having 1 that you can move around actually makes this thing the economical decision.

 

What purpose of this THING? Mobile Server? Servers must be in server room

 

This could definitely be used for movie/TV production on location. As quick setup editor/previewing shots etc.

 

the basic one is around 10 000$, not so expensive for the thing... with full option it is 100 000$ no limit in price

Ah yes, the epitome of the PC Master race. Shredding fps in 6 screens while getting shredded yourself from lifting the thing.

 

this is just genius for the mad scientist on-the-go.
or even not-so-mad as this will make many scientists happy.

 

It is crazy to think that this thing in middle spec. single socket, can replace the 5 servers and a NAS in the server room, where i work.
It would probably half the energy bill and UPS requirement and speed up the communication greatly by using virtual machines, instead of 5 standalone machines on 1GB network.
They could maybe even remove the aircon, because they do not need to cool down 7-8 Haswell era CPUes anymore.
