People are bored maybe? Or playing Skyrim, who knows :D

I'm still waiting for a patch to take out the horrible mouse acceleration. Bearable for single player but it just kills the fun in any multiplayer game right away.

Well, I have to say, Skyrim is starting to take over my life now and only tend to find limited time for BF3. Maybe when the Karkand expansion gets released I'll delve back in properly.

Thought so, me too :D Right now there are less people playing BF3 and MW3 (both roughly 80.000), but 3 times as many are roaming through Skyrim on PC :)

Having the Time of my life in this Game. Thank you DICE!

I saw they are already talking about BF4. I sure hope they dont follow the COD series with there yearly releases. I want to enjoy BF3 for 5 years then give us something new.

Atleased BF2 got played to the fullest. I hope they release more co op missions too my brother and I had alot of fun with those.

I've not seen any complaints about hit registration, on mass, since BF3 was released. I guess it's officially fixed...

As long as it's not played via LAN, there'll be hit registration problems
    There's no way around it.

Whether you will notice them, that's whole another question

    Guys.
I read that there is a way to start a game without that ORIGIN. If it is not against the rules can someone post a link and some explanation how to do it so I do not have to dig thorough 300+ pages in this thread.
    thanks in advance.

Hit registration is the same on both LAN and WAN.

and how about typical latencies involved?

and that's still at least 0.0033 sec of latency per kilometer that signal has traversed

    (speed of light)

It doesn't matter, in BF2 you could get a good hit reg even with a 250ms ping as long as the .cfg settings were adjusted accordingly...

You can't get a perfect hit reg though, because there is a small amount of extrapolation done between the server and client...

Perfect hit reg according to whome?

The guy you shot, or you?

You two are not in the same spacetime point, and hence do not see that bullet at particular point at the same time.

No way around it. Either you got cheated, or him, or both.

^I said you can't get perfect hit reg, because of extrapolation done by the server.

The server basically has to calculate where you both were at a certain point in time because it only updates the clients position once, then goes to the next client...
It's too much explain in one post but you can google extrapolation...:p

Wish the game had trading kills like BC2 though. It doesn't solve interpolation but it does take away alot of it's frustrations.

CSS has one very annoying bug that would be completely gone with trading kills:

On your monitor you shoot a person in the head as he shoots you in the head. Interpolation actually causes you to see him and receive his shot quite late and you were actually already dead when you pressed mouse1. CSS assigns default damage value for the weapon instead of the kill/headshot (27 in 1 hit for AK, 21 in 1 for M4).

I'm simply using this as an example, showing how trading kills can resolve the frustrations interpolation causes.
