Real life mode in Battlefield 1. A very cinematic experience playing with the HUD completely turned off and colour correction. View in 4K 60FPS for best quality and wear headphones. ...

Seems like the first bf game since bad company 2 which i may enjoy and play for real a bit more than just free beta. Looks amazing and i consider buying it, maybe even digital deluxe/premium/whatever name of top edition is.

Settings like terrain, destroyed buildings is lovely made.

But I see main issue with realism which prevails in any game today.

Absolutely unrealistic projectile impacts and smoke they create. And same goes for grenades, tank shells, ... All create debris in very unrealistic way and smoke in even more unrealistic way.

I do not mind bad details in objects/textures. But I really mind those out-of-place smoke, fire, explosion effects.
I have seen my share of those but I doubt people making those lovely looking games ever seen even recording of real world explosions, impacts and smoke they create.

Game video shows that technology is there, it is just wrongly implemented.

If it was real WW1 there would just be barrages everywhere. Literally millions of shells.

    ^ This.

Realistic WW1 gameplay would be each team taking turns marching across no man's land while being shelled by their own side, getting caught in barbed wire and minefields, all the while the opposing team is happily gunning down everyone in sight from their trenches.

And it would be the most boring fps game ever. :D I was thinking there were some fantasy elements there (ie. orcs). Fiction surely with things from ww1.

But well it's not like battlefields have been true to how wars are fought before :D

    Wwi um o.k.

This is a game, it's not real, no one is trying to change history. This is meant for entertainment not education. As entertainment I feel they have done an exceptional job. In life criticism flows easily from non achievers. If you can actually produce a better game then do so. If not, then simply say the game is not for you and move on. I appreciate the hard work that goes into making these games for us. If I do not like a game I do not buy it. That in itself is statement enough. I hope all of you continue to have success in your life and have happiness in your souls. See you on the battlefield, make believe that is.

Was gonna say something about the colors, but then I noticed it uses color correction. Colors look terrible IMO.

I have to say some things in this game looks awesome and other things is a letdown. I mean not even bullet wholes in the people that you shoot??? What year 2000 graphics is this?
Don't get me wrong, I think it will be one of the best Battlefield in a long time, I just think that they could have done a lot more.
But who knows what the settings was on this clip? Maybe all those nice things was turned off to make the enemies more visible to the eye.

I just love when people are using this argument. So please wait a few, I'll make better Battlefield game and then I'll say my opinion about this one.

Well then according to your thinking, if my mechanic doesn't do a good job, im supposed to do it better myself? Lol
We are paying for the game, its not free.
And people voicing their opinion to me is part of what i call "feedback", as seen with the space COD...

Might wanna change it to Schocktruppe(n)...

Needs gore. A leg there, a hand here, fingers, guts all over the place. Half a face, brain bits scattered. Blood that doesn't disappear and more blood in general. Sort of Solder of fortune but with 2016 graphics. That would be realistic. What is the age rating?

Probably they are targetting 12 but will end up like always with 16 and this is a thing which irritates me a lot: because of that text chat in battlefield and crysis has censored curses, even mild ones.

Well, I do not think Battlefield is going to see mud made of blood any time soon.
Nor I think that you'll get to play in real-like smoke, fog, poison gas environments.

Verdun is much better on that side, but it is not that graphically advanced. So, on one side Battlefield 1 which looks lovely, but does not even aspire to realism.
And on other side Verdun which targets realism, but does not have resources/experience to get in there fully.

One day, you'll run uphill in game and your feet will slip on mud. As you fall down and throw your hands in front of you (while dropping gun), you notice that it is kind of brownish mud. And as you touch down, fingers clawing into that mud, you realize that it is bloody mud. But not today, not with Battlefield.

That's exactly what I was thinking. To be fair, only a few games have had good fire/smoke etc. I seem to remember the fog in Batman Arkham Asylum was really good with physX on and would whip around your cape as you moved through it. Also Bioshock 1 in DX10 mode I remember being astounded that fog didn't clip into everything compared to DX9 mode!
