hi, my sound card: X-Fi Titanium HD. (SB1270). everything works perfectly. I have Audio Pro T10 speaker 1) Do I need to turn off the integrated audio device on my motherboard from the bios settings, is it okay to keep it turned on for sound quality? 2) How many cm RCA (for stereo connection) cable do you think would be appropriate to buy, they say that long cable is harmful for sound quality.
Hey and welcome. 1. Turning off your onboard APU might help for various reasons, but not for sound quality. Set your programs to the X-Fi where you can, and set your X-fi as the standard soundcard in your windows audio settings. What it might do is marginally save energy by disabling the onboard chip and solve come compatibilities problems you *might* have. Windows can handle multiple APU's pretty ok. 2. Since it has it's own aplifier, I assume it's a strictly active speaker, so the cable length doesn't matter so much. Shielding/ quality of the cable might. I'd stay on the 'less than 5m/15ft' side, just because I've no experience going with longer cable. I'm sure you'd be fine
