A mini guide of how I and others got the keys faster :) :

    1. go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/dd353205.aspx
    2. press Sign in (upper right corner)
    3. login with Live ID
    4. then, go to:
    key for 32bit english:
    https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/productkeys/win7-32/enus/default.aspx
    key for 64-bit english:
    https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/productkeys/win7-64/enus/default.aspx
    5. if it says Error, press refresh till you get the key

    cheers

ps: one key per Windows Live ID account

Not that I can remember. It was really easy to get a key for the Vista beta.

ive tried all of that and i even just now did it in the order you suggested. its not that im getting any errors or anything, its just that it doesnt show or say anything on that oage about keys or downloads, just the article that says... and i quote "Over the past few years, you've asked us to make some changes to Windows. We listened closely. Now it's time to share an early look at how we've used your feedback. Windows 7 is faster, more reliable, and makes it easier to do what you want. Both the everyday things and the killer "is that really possible?" things. Dig into this site to see what's coming. Want to try the Beta? Come back the afternoon of January 9. And remember—this is just a preview. There's more to come."

thats it, thats all that page has shown me all day and the tech net page just says windows 7 beta coming soon

Thanks for responding to that for me.

Installing a beta with a product key just increases the install time. Given that beta software does tend to have bugs, I prefer to install the software as quickly as possible as it's likely to be a repetitive thing. I can still submit error reports, I just can't file official bug reports.

Yes...they did.. People were excite about Vista throughout it's beta. A lot of people lost interest once the RTM came though.

    I get this page:
It does not redirect. But it does redirect if I am no logged in. make sure you are logging in to Live ID from technet page as it seems Live ID login is not global.

I was reading that Windows 7 blog and it says the iso is an upgrade for vista sp1 to windows 7. Does this mean that I need to install windows 7 on top of my vista installation? And does this also mean I can't install the 64-bit on top of my 32-bit?

I dunno, sorry it does not work for you.
I just tried it one more time with all the steps I mentioned but with different Live ID from a friend and it works again..I also deleted cookies and temp files before to make sure it's clean. dunno why it redirects for you..

If Vista was a huge success or at least didnt get bashed so much, i wonder if we would even have a W7 beta at this point.

Yeah same here with getting the key, tryed Firefox and IE8.

xrc6, probably not, i always liked Vista, especially 64, but by making it so system heavy, they effectively limited the amount of businesses who would even consider it, W7 seem to be as fancy and stable as Vista but at much lower hardware costs.
