Gonna try these tonight! Had issue with the driver restarting on 197 series, hope this one will fix it.
Btw, easy fix for MPC-HC and EVR - install previous version of MPC (can be chosen during installation of K-Lite Full)
P.S. If you are to lazy to reinstall K-Lite :D - download this archive http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q8B8NVET
and extract files (MPC exe and dll it's using) into C:\Program Files (x86)\K-Lite Codec Pack\Media Player Classic

Driver update is as simple as cake! in earlier days i uninstalled the older drivers, used driver cleaner, and then new drivers. But those are not needed!!!

All we have to do is run the setup of the newer drivers, it simply uninstalls the older one and installs the newer one.No reboot, no driver sweeper.

Nvidia driver package does it perfectly, im following this for the past 10 drivers are so, gurus here can give it a try!!!!

I tested that with 197.28. Just installed the new one, and have mixed driver versions, same as Gurgulio has.

So, i stick with the "uninstall old, driversweeper, new ones" thing ;)

I think it's randon on machines, because only new one inst. in early days worked perfectly for me - not anymore. ^^

No one is saying XP64 wasn't a great OS, just that W7 x64 is better.
The cards have been out for 2 weeks, and while they may be hard to get, there are still many people in the tech community who have the cards, they need new drivers too lol.

A pity the MPC-HC problem is still there, but the majority of recent Nvidia drives have been beta, so what do you expect.

I haven't had any problems with mpc-hc. using evr custom pres. + internal dxva or external dxva/cuda codecs and all is good.
I'm wondering why you guys need K-Lite for basic use as you can always grab the very latest mpc-hc "unofficial" build (no problem using it with K-Lite though) which is being updated frequently (almost on a daily basis) and packs all common internal filters required.

    download latest svn from here:

do not assume version number = performance gains and bug fixing.

also the "it's always recommended to update your drivers" is simply false, often newer drivers simply cause too many headaches to a lot of people.

nvidia should concentrate on getting the basics right instead of worrying about some crappy version number to lure its customers with.
