    Nice cars you all have.
    I wish I had one :(

I've been looking for a job recently and I've entered contests where you can win cars :p I know but someone is going to win them, so might as well be me.
Currently hoping to win a Merc E-Class

I'm desperate to get a car.

Yea... that's the same thing i thought when i saw a nice Mercedes in a sweepstakes at the local mall with a bunch of podium's around it with cards to fill out, and a crap-ton of people there filling them out. Unfortunately i only had the same thought you had for about 5 seconds before remembering how much of a stupid move that was the LAST time i was a sucker. You'll probably wind up getting the same crap as me.... numerous phone calls saying "Well... we haven't picked a winner yet, but we're giving you an opportunity to go to (insert popular travel destination here) at a low rate!". At one point i just got tired of it and said "yea... don't call me again. I don't care if i win or lose, i just don't want to hear from you people anymore."

Actually, that's not bad looking for the year. I remember using it in Gran Tourismo for the early races haha. Is that the AWD or FWD Version?

    Quick question.

My car lately has developed a bit of a bumpy ride and the engine doesn't seem to transfer as much power to the wheels as it once did. I am thinking that this might be an engine belt that needs replacing but I am not sure. Also, whenever I go above 125 KM/h my car goes in for a real bumpy ride. Not sure if the two are related.

My car is a 2007 Dihatsu Sirion 1.3l (please don't laugh).

    Anyone have any ideas?

Explain more what you mean by "bumpy ride", that would suggest something wrong in the suspension, not the engine. Possibly shocks? Some bushings are faulty?

Unless you mean it starts to vibrate, or shake slightly at higher speeds?

.... my car is my avatar..... 2009 Smart ForTwo Brabus Coupe 1L 3 Cylinder. Don't think anybody's laughing. Either way you look, they're still cars.

But yea... as MM10X said, need a bit more explanation as to what you mean by "bumpy".

Well as soon as I pass 125KM/h I start feeling heavy vibrations in the car, it feels as if it will fall apart. It reduces at 132KM/h but starts again even worse at around 145KM/h. At 160 it shakes like a bat out of hell.

Cartman: Haha... yea.... forgot that it's not up anymore. Don't often look over there.

Brute: yea.... that doesn't sound like anything engine related.... or even suspension related. i'm thinking something around the wheels.... maybe bad wheel bearing(s), or just a seriously bad wheel alignment/balancing.

Tires or alignment. That's almost never engine related.

What do you guys think of a used 2007 Porsche Cayman?
They can be found for -$30K now, which is the range of the other similar cars I was looking at like the 2011 Impreza WRX, and 05-06 Lotus Elise. Actually the Elise still is mostly over $30K unless you look around really far locations. The good thing about nicer cars is when it's used, they barley have any miles on it. Most Elises/Caymans I've seen have less than 40K miles, so it would feel like a new car.

Specs on it are good and I really like the size of the car. Strangely enough it has a room in the trunk and hood as the engine sits really low in the car behind your back. What's the longevity of a Porsche? Is it going to be a pain in the ass with maintenance costs like a BMW? Does parts break easily when driven hard? I've driven my buddys BMW 325i with a sport suspension from the factory which was nice, but he actually hates the car now because of the maintenance cost when something breaks. Keep in mind, I will probably drive this car to the ground in autocross haha.

Nice car, even better is the ''s'' version. However it is indeed expensive to maintain should anything happen to it, at least as expensive if not more expensive than most bmw's
