    Hmmm ... Sorry for not returning ... But the boinc-based thingies were so much easier to get going when I was finished with the last batch of local "stuff". And now I'm in the top-ten list of my team for Milkyway@home:

    ram V is at 2.10V it's Corsair twin2x2048 PC8500C5D x 2 kits for 4098MB
    it's meant to run at 5-5-5-15 @ 2.10V and that's what it's at

    6054| p6054_Mutant_scan| SMP| C:\FAH CPU\| Athlonite| 69411| SMP| GRO-A3| 2.22| 00:00:00| 2.1| 0.000| 23/01/2011 7:48 a.m.| 481| 100| 0|EarlyUnitEnd| 77062| 0| 40|174

    the above is only listed once so I'll assume it's the same WU then just seems strange that while I'm watching it's fine but as soon as I go away from the PC blam EUE twice no less I would have thought it would have gone toes up before that if my machine was truly unstable in any way V was constant as were temps

    I might. By that time, I can probably afford a new I7 rig with HD6990 ;)

    Obtw, those numbers-per-day in milkyway, is a 5970 + 5850 CFed. Very little CPU (in fact, the poor old Q9400 hasn't got much chance of doing anything near what those two cards does)

    I've a new problem now
    2x GPU3 systray clients set to Idle + 1x SMP2 cli client set to LOW
    Problem symtoms::
    whilst using SMP2 both GPU clients now use 25% each of the CPU the EV's have been set and were working fine but as soon as SMP2 was started the gpus both started using more cpu time and so leaving only 50% available to the SMP2 client slowing it down ALOT .....

    is it a driver issue or do I need to set something up differently I dunno I've tried setting the gpu clients to low and idle makes no difference as with setting the CPU to low or idle still nothing ahhhhhhhhhh help or just tell me I'm going mad

    oh and I just made 183 :pc1: 51c on the CPU with SMP2 and 60c on the 2 hd5770s with GPU3

    Keep it going! Although I'm a little sad to pass J_J_B while he's having system issues, we had a nice little compitition going!

    Hi Ghost!

    No system issues here. The slightly damaged DVI connectors were a horror but don't cause any problems. I've just been enjoying having a computer at home again. I have the system folding for 6 to 8 hours during the day but that's all while at home. $0.153 per kW/hr is the norm here and I don't want to see the extra $140 that I would see in my electric bill if I were to fold 24/7 at home.

    So, you're going to be streaking into the distance in front of me for a while. Don't worry though... I've been putting together plans to construct two PCs for 24/7 folding here at the office. Both will be Core i7 2600K (best cost to performance ratio), overclocked to 5 GHz on water (no GPU folding to keep costs down). I estimate close to 100,000 PPD on those two rigs while folding Bigadv. I'll start with one... need to sell a large network cabinet and 1U 8-port KVM switch with integrated 17" monitor, keyboard, and touchpad first to help offset costs.

    well finally got round to sorting out folding using a dual GPU setup. (got my 2nd card going) Had a few difficulties at first, but got there in the end.

    So i've gone from sli 9800's to a single 580 + 9800GTX+. Although i don't leave my machine folding 24/7 and sometimes I don't manage to get it on every day, hopefully with this i'll be able to help boost mine/teams numbers up a bit. I'll be able to fold whilst I game at least!! :banana:

    i've been out of action for a wee bit, completely tidying my PC, clean installs etc, and running around like a mad man with my studies and getting ready to a quick jaunt to NYC next month. Will resume when normality sets!
