Leaked benchmarks place the 3870 just under 8800GT in 3DMark. Combine that with the fact that current ATI architecture scores much better in 3DMark than in actual games and you should have a clear picture. Plus, we already know the 8800GT o/c like mad, so there's another plus for the green team.

you arent going to get a 3870xt. the point of the xx50 and xx70 and so on is that they dont have to use random letters behind the numbers.

jst for fun. a local retailer here in malaysia has put up prices saying the HD3870XT and HD3850Pro are ready and available. here's a link to the pricelist (in malaysia ringgit) pricelist
its on the left. click on the latest pricelist.
am looking at it right now. the 512mb ddr4 version is a little bit higher than the 8800GT 512mb but benchmarks will prove the price/performance ratio :smoke:

    in short. i did a conversion and the 512mb ddr4 variant is 330$ or 157£ incl.tax
the 3850pro is £115 or $240 also incl. tax which is a lil less than uk

interesting to see the non-existent 2900gt there for a little below the 8800gt 512 but who'd go for the 2900gt when u've got the 8800gt for a little more cash. heck, i would

heck. my 86gts is crap. i needa switch it soon :puke3:

i'm waiting for a guru review and i'm going to make a decision based on that.I would like to get me an 3870XT over a 8800GT but i think the GT will be slightly faster....

the GT will be faster for sure and is a better single card solution imho

but 2x3870 in xfire is just very appealing to me, if nforce chipset didn't suck ass i would happily buy 2 GT's but i'd rather suck a little performance for X38 chipset.

plus i think these 38xx will clock like nutters.
