Fury X is onboard, great results for each brand, hopping to see maybe a dx12 patch.

Another good review HH. Im glad you are still including Tahiti GPU in your charts. Its still performing nicely.

AMD and nVidia seems to do well in FC. Isnt that bad performing as reported early.

Eh, not really true for NV. Latest Dunia engine iterations (FC4 and Primal) definitely favor GCN cards for some reason as can be seen from 290X outperforming GTX980 -- which isn't something which happens regularly.

Doom alpha, Division beta, Hitman beta this also can be seen. 290X/390X outperforming GTX980 while 290 outperforming GTX970. Look at the 780ti, its left behind so much and no one cares about it.

To be honest all those trends i mention above started to happen regularly.

But then there's the chance Nvidia can whip up some driver magic like they usually do.Unless the DX12 API makes that notion null and void but I doubt it.It's the usual trend with new APIs and Tech, AMD would come blazing through the gates, everyone focusing on them and how late Nvidia is.When Nvidia's ready, AMD gets sidelined due to unrivaled driver optimization and power consumption.

I really hope I'm wrong for AMD's sake because they're not looking good as a company right now.Wouldn't wish their employees out of work, not in this economy.

Same thing happened in 2010 with fermi launch.

GTX 480 was faster but was 6 months newer as well.

I remember seeing so many fanboys saying AMD is slow haha cant beat the gtx 480 blah blah.

Im just glad to see AMD and Nvidia close in performance.
We cant ever goo back too 2007 again. That time sucked for Radeon.
While I had an 8800gts 512, when the HD 4870 launched, I was very happy to see it.

I just hope it doesnt take months to get a proper Xfire profile.
Since its very close to FC4.

That's a trend I'm hoping AMD can nail down and be on par with Nvidia for once.As for power consumption, I consider it a non-issue as frame limiting is an easy cure. But like you said, it really is a good feeling to see Radeons back up there and have the two slug it out.

    Fully agreed on power consumption.

I limit BF4 to 80 fps. Keeps my cards under 70c load.
Im not worried about power comsumption.
    If I was Id have 2 gtx 960 or R9 285s.

I have no preference over nvidia or amd except for business models.
I prefer AMD there. Hardware wise, its about the same for both.
I do love seeing that 280x is 9 frames from the 780ti. Thats impressive.

This game does look like its runs well though for both sides.
I wanna try it on all 3 of my rigs.
    290x xfire in one,
    R9 280 in 2nd and
    GTX 670 4gb in the 3rd.

Game runs better in the previous driver to 362.00. Who would have thought.

Sli does not work great with the latest driver. Last beta is faster in Farcry Primal LOOOOL!

    That IS epic fail...

the gameworks features which fc4 had are not in this yet maybe they patch them in at a later date make it more taxing from what ive seen on youtube it runs pretty well the vram is sensible ubisoft seem to have played it safe this time 15gb download is nice aswell , i presume you need uplay i wish they would use steam only and drop uplay, in videos ive seen msi afterburner osd shows cpu core 2 at 100% ive seen that in assasin creed games i suppose they fix it in a patch

a 290 beating a 780ti at 1080p i remeber when the 780ti came out it was about 20-30 fps faster than a 290 lols how things change

290/970 looks be the cards to have. Obviously no gameworks.

I believe 290s are the cheaper of the two, so for ~$200, maxed 1080P performance.

Amazing performance for the 290. Not far off from 980. Hawaii has aged very well. Maxwell slipping and may go way of kepler if this keeps up. I doubt I'll stick with Nvidia next time around.

Is nVidia actively gimping their cards or just not optimizing drivers for Kepler anymore, Or did Ubi not optimise nVidia at all? The 780 Ti is a joke!

Just look at this, Far Cry 4 uses same engine than primal, and in that game it outperforms the 290X Tri-X by almost 20FPS
    http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Far-Cry-4-Spiel-23145/Specials/Technik-Test-Benchmark-1143026/

But in primal its 1 fps slower, because the 290X actually GAINS FPS in a more DEMANDING game, :frown:
    http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Far-Cry-Primal-Spiel-56751/Specials/Benchmark-Test-1187476/

So 3 years later, in a more demanding game, the 290X gains +-4FPS on the same engine, and test where done by the same site and the 780Ti loses 20FPS!!!

What the hell is going on??? Is nVidia that reliant on their drivers that as soon as they stop optimising your card's performance tanks :/

I have a 980Ti and I guess going on this trend it will be obsolete this time next year :(
