    X2 and x64 is still freezing with 81.87, in 3DM05 and BF2, same as .84 and .85.

How are these drivers for hlf2/serious sam2/quake4? I had the 81.85whql'd ones and I kept getting looping errors. I also get alot of stuttering in hlf2 too.

I also have the looping/stuttering problem with Quake 4 and Half-Life 2. It is EXTREMELY annoying. People are going to stop buying this crap and play the next-gen consoles if they don't clean this sheet up.

I noticed the HL2 stutering problem after a Steam upgrade and got it with the 77.77. Now on the 81.87 I get the same thing, no better or worse. Not sure if it's the game or the video driver....

They say the Quake 4 problem has something to do with sound. It's completely unplayable for me.

I think nVIDIA doesn't have the slightest idea WTF they are doing with their drivers. I think they are just randomly changing some bits and bytes and release another beta and wait for us to fume.....

The Knights of the old republic bug (black screen so not playble) has been in the 8x.xx drivers from the start and it's about time they fix it...

No performance gain whatsoever... Going back to 78.01 or 78.05....

And these 8x.xx drivers should be better for dual cores... yeah right! :(

OMG, I hope no one here is even thinking about a console... Anyway, to the topic.

Tell me, what's wrong (not that it matters right now), In CoD II demo, my performance is worse than with any other driver I've tried (81.85, 81.84, 81.26, 78.05, 78.03, 78.01...). My own "benchmark", I start the game and watch the fps without moving the mouse. The best I've got 27fps min, now 22. BF2 is fine, not the best but I'm too lazy to find out what's best for it. That's what I play, not CoD because I have just the demo.

I've got a problem guys, can you help me to identify the cause and/or fix it? This was in BF2 too since I installed 81.85 (didn't go away even with safe mode driver cleaner when I rolled back to old drivers). Now in BF2 it's almost gone with these 81.87 but in CoD II it still persists. See.

In CoD II you can't really see it in pics, but clearly in moving "real time". However these boxes show the point

And in CoD II I had a problem, which came after moving to 81.85, but now I've fixed it. Some textures were kinda like waving, pixels floated around silly, it looked awful. I found out, that in CP's advanced options, if I turn off "Anisotropic Sample Optimization", it's back to normal. Strange ehh?

I've just starting getting this when I switched to 81.85 and now 81.87, I even get it when I go back to the 7x.xx. I get a momentary pause when certain sounds are played, grenade in CS:S etc and every now and then I get a complete lock up with a slight looping sound in the background. What the...????

cg_drawfps 1 = to show fps the command

com_maxfps 125 = To max your fps at what ever settings, 125 is a good number...

Man i give up, i am still stuck on 78.01 and i have not been convinced to upgrade my drivers due to reports of stuttering/crashing from 6800 ultra and 7800GTX users which i consider in the same camp as me. I have no issues with 78.01 so i know that can do it so why can't nvidia release drivers that perfrom bug free like 78.01 but have the optimizations for the latest games. I want those optimizations!!!

well as far as these being optomized for CoD2, that isn't the case !!! no better than 81.85's ! which is lousy !

I'm not seeing a significant boost in CoD2 either.

Then again, I'm not seeing any losses.

They appear to be the same as the 81.85's so far.

Civilization 4 stopped crashing on me after I switched from 81.85 to 81.87 beta. That is about the only difference I noticed, all other games run about the same.

    hi gga :)

ok im ready with my benchmarks now and i changed my opinion about this driver. The 8185 seems faster but i gained a new record in 3DM2005 which might be not bad for 8187. i ll keep them though i prefer the 81.84
i hope nvidia ll publish one of the famous 8x.72 drivers until 12/2005.
