Last week we already reported that GeForce GTX would not launch during CES, but on the 22nd of January 2015. Reports already indicated that shipment manifests showed 2 and 4 GB GDDR5 6GHz memory ve...

I'd do some research before buying anything (literally and figuratively)

is the 970s a typo or 970 look better compared to the 960 Guestimated chart?

So 965Ti "full core" is basically a stock 780GTX, not bad I guess.

I think they're massively preparing us for all them next gen games in 2015 (U4E, etc.), mainstream gaming gpus once high end will be completely capable of running at least @ 1080p

nah, i was initially interested in the 960s however i don't want a 128-bit card in my rig so that makes the 970s better choice for me personally is all.

Man, was kind of hoping for 960's to pack like 3GB vram and 192bit bus... :( Bit of a bonerkill right now, but I suppose we just have to wait and see how the things unravel.

Oh well, I plan to upgrade gpu in March anyhoo, so the market's probably gonna fluctuate quite by some degree, but sweet 970 is still going to be over my budget.

For playing with medium and low textures I´ll keep my gtx660, should have been called the gtx950 or something. Gtx970 should have been the gtx960 or at least the 960ti. The better deal seems to be the r9 290.

Can you explain me why if the bus has just 128bits is a bad thing?

it's basically all about minimum framerate.
if you have 2gb worth of textures being accessed by the gpu through a 128 wide bus fine, however what about 4gb worth of textures going through that same lil 128 bit channel ..(doable but not in any way optimal)
a 256 bit channel 980 could handle more than 4gb of textures, not much more but more, sli 980 could handle say 6gb optimally.
sli 960 could handle say 3gb optimally, if you use 4gb worth of textures then you're gonna have some issues (maybe not major but something not 100%)

smaller bus = less bandwidth = lower performance.

The higher resolution is card will cripple, even at 1080p those 128 bit bus sounds awfully low.

I see. So is not worthy an upgrade from an Asus gtx 660ti to one of this new gtx 960?

The 750Ti has a 128-bit bus and does surprisingly well for its price.

If the 960 is priced accordingly it will be a nice surprise.

The 750ti also used to perform worse at times than the older 650ti boost, talk about naive hunting cash grabs.

No way, performance upgrade seems like is gonna be tiny and it still will choke and stutter because of 2gb buffer with high textures in games like watch dogs, Assassin´s unity, Dragon Age, etc, etc. Avoid like plague.

We can confirm that the charts as always are fake. DG Lee has been active on our forums as well, and he simply takes guesstimated specs, then normalizes them and then makes a prognosis of the results. At best the fabricated chart can be called 'Guestimated' as the guy simply does not have the actual products.
^^^Thats all I needed to read.

The 960 will still be faster than a 760, which was faster than the 660Ti. It's just a matter of how much faster it's going to be. Personally, I wouldn't go from a 660Ti to a 960 unless there's a 30% or better bump. I think you'd be better off going for a 970 or waiting about round of releases and see what replaces the 960.

Maybe charts are fake but specs are real. Thats the debate here, with those specs charts cant be better than this, so...

If people think they will be doing serious gaming with 2GB/128bit GPU's in 2015 they are just wrong, very wrong.

guess i passing on this 128bit gpu will never be in my any of desktop. 192bit is minimum i will accept in gpu these days 256 bit it better, bandwidth is king in day in age where AA/AF/AO and all that stuff are used and there all bandwidth killers.

Well its off by 2% from a 384bit 280 in the fake graph. This is not designed as high end you already have the 980/970 and gm200 for that. If nvidia just sold high end gpu`s they would probably be out of business.
