I backup clean Windows install before drivers, before chipset drivers, etc....

Driver is a mixed bag for me. My tri 980ti in the main rig are fine with it, in fact it's one of the faster drivers in recent months. For my GTX 745 in the secondary utility rig they were rock bottom. Unexplicable 60ish % CPU load permanently with task manager showing no process for that usage, and games outright failed to start. Rolled back to 411.70 on that one, which are fine.

Ouch... Had a system hard lock after a couple hours in Left 4 Dead 2, of all games. Only thing new is 416.16, other than new Win10 (but played every night fine since that installed with previous driver).

So what? Battlefield dx11 is perfect as it is, with an sli profile that gives 97% sli scaling.

Probably, because new features are Win 10 1809 exclusive...

I like these. Spent the last hour testing in-game benchmarks and I'm very pleased. Averaging 5-10 fps gains. I had a feeling that RTX drivers would give Pascal a little boost.

Apparently there is an error in the task manager with the last update of Windows 10 because it does not show me correctly the CPU usage of each process.

Regarding these drivers, I'm doing pretty well at the moment.
They've fixed the freezes in Gears of War 4, and games like BF1 and Batman Arkham Knight go very smoothly.

I was very happy with the Vulkan 399.32, but I think I'm going to keep the 416.16 :)

I have this bug. I'm not sure which readings are incorrect though, the per-process ones or a total usage. I think it's the latter but it I didn't test it much since I don't feel any lags whatsoever so it doesn't really bother me.

GTA V, Metro 2033, Dirt Rally, Just Cause 2 (about 20fps boost), Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider. Also played the Witcher 3 with fraps and I'm averaging around 80fps @ 1080p, hairworks 2xaa, and max settings.

Did you by any chance upgraded to 1809 between installing these and doing your previous benchmarking?

According to DXdiag I'm using Win10 Build 17134. Not sure if that's the latest version but my PC is always on and M$ is constantly updating.

17763.1 is the latest. So i guess your pc hasn't gotten the update yet.

Well, then these gains look quite a bit weird.

Perhaps I'll block it for now because I'm very happy with the way things are running.

Do you have to lower your Advanced Ambient Occlusion, Blending & Fog settings with your GTX 1060 or can you keep 'em maxed out and maintain 60 fps at 1080p?

I definitely can confirm that weird audio switching with the GTX 1060, 3GB. I started Street Fighter V and noticed that there were no audio. I noticed that the audio switched from my SoundBlaster's audio to my monitor's audio. I set the SoundBlaster audio back as the default and it did not switch back until I closed and restarted the game.
