I do not think Inel are looking to sell many Cpu`s with this gen refresh. all the effort is going into the next platform with DDR5 and the new socket

Can someone help me out with what the difference between the i9-11900K and the i7-11700K is? They are both 8 cores with hyperthreading, why is the price difference so large? €380 for the i7-11700KF is manageable.

Idk but i would rather buy a 5900X for the same amount of money.

I bet you are being funny!

Possibly true. But, TBH, 11900K shouldn't be more than $400 if they want to sell any of them.

You think of 6900K for sure. :) 6700K had a bit lower MSRP than 7700K (340 vs. 350).

The frequencies maybe? Cache? No idea, just puzzling. Anyway, I have no idea why they needed to have a 11900K, why a 11700K wasn't enough.

Or even a 5800x and save up some money for very similar performance.

    This.

It was the same by 3080 series 800-850e, then it dropped at 700-720e by actual release, before miners and scalpers got their hands on it.

    I highly doubt 11700k will be more then 400e or 11900k 500e.

More like 350e and 450e at best.

Pleased to see that Intel's high end is less expensive than in the past...
But i just have already changed 3 Intel of the family with Ryzen (and everyone are happy with them)... Too late for a minimum of 3 or 4 year.

I totaly agree about the fan boy.
But right now, Intel's 1200 CPU that are REALLY in stock are Celeron, Pentium and some rare i3, on AMD you still have 5600X in OEM or Bulk... Both company have been hardly touched by shortage and (or) pandemic situation (for the company i work we will have problem until end of april if it stay like that (but it's getting worse right now) )

Its a new SKU that isnt out yet and etailers are simply jacking up the price in anticipation of its release. Initial inventories for new releases will likely be low, and with similarly exorbitant pricing for Zen 3 (still unavailable), should be no surprise etailers will gouge consumers with Rocket Lake. Prices will only be sensible when inventories build up.

The 5800X price drops that happened in the UK put it at £379.99. It has the same damn scores in everything!

Scummy retailers are hardly Intel's fault. Both manufacturers have the same problem. I had a look at the 5900X, and while some retailers here have it in stock, they're asking anywhere between 25% to 40% over MSRP, which is nothing short of highway robbery. It's one thing when a scalper is doing it, but when major retailers get in on the scheme, well, that's a whole different ball game.

Gamers can only watch because all these new chips dont really mean anything unless you are a new system builder. The game market is low with no good games out in the last 2 years triple aaa that is. I use to get excited about new hardware because i like watching my games be able to go faster but i dont know i have a 9900k and honestly they dont need to go any faster for me. I am at the peak of gaming on PC and its a lonely place xD

Fanboy or not, everyone knows, those Intel chip prices are just ridiculous!!!! Still waiting for Intel 10nm or AMD 3/ 5nm.....when the new homeoffice market is history, and hardware prices came down again.....
