How do I get to Dos?

    How do I get to Dos from windows ME?

    If you mean from inside windows... start-run and type command if you mean start in dos... You need to download a patch (I don't remember from where though but I'll get back to you if you really need it)

    Well that is pretty dumb. ME runs over DOS, yet there's no way to easily get into DOS? How the hell am I supposed to apply firmware updates that need pure <br>
    DOS?

    Use the windows ME startup disk!

    follow the following path:<br>
    Start menu/programs/accessories/command<br>
    presto, u get the dos command prompt, if it aint there look on the me disk (or 98 if u upgraded) it should be there!

    WinME was designed without a pure DOS shell. So if you really need one, yer pretty much SOL unless you can get a Win98 startup disk to boot you to DOS...

    Hi,<br>
    if you do not have a win98 boot floppy, get one from <A HREF="http://www.bovistech.com/disks.htm" TARGET=_blank>bovistech</A>, near bottom of their page.<br>
    <br>
    this is a selfextracting image file.<br>
    you can use it to boot from and get in a real mode DOS environment.<br>
    <br>
    Hmm, they may even have an ME booter.

    Uh well actually...it would've been if the link worked. And as it is .exe is never a good extension to link to hehe.
