    Is it? I'm not sure.

WoW had it's big reveal with WoW classic, that's done there. I don't expect much to add to that, I doubt that they'd release a new expansion or something similarly big. No esports.
    HOTS is dead. No esports.
OW is more or less dead, only the league keeping it somewhat relevant. And that's only for those following I guess.
Starcraft... not really that much of all over the place like Fortnite or LOL, DOTA... only relevant to those following it on purpose, much like OW's esports.
Warcraft, there might be an official part there but then again, probably nothing new... personally, not that interesting. No esports.
Hearthstone's somewhat decaying... I don't see this game thriving except for hardcore fans, and the esports community has had a big shakeup just to return to more or less the old formats of play they had in 2017... there will be some things, but lately, everything that's good or interesting has been released in the Chinese region only.... so yeah, the best they could do is say "hey rest of the world, you get what the Chinese get now too" (tournament mode, advanced statistics etc.)
Diablo... they might "reveal" D4 but... at the current state of Blizzard, and Diablo Immortal and it's backlash, I somewhat don't see them doing a traditional Diablo game. They might just sink more money in it than ActiBlizz wants to do...

So... new games? We know they might be working on some new game in the Overwatch universe / under it's IP, but they are keeping pretty tight about it.
Other than that? Not sure we'll see much more of that. And politics do rather cripple ActiBlizz in the eyes of others than help it... it's not like they didn't go and take sides in politics (like Apple did too yesterday), and for monetarization, they already have shown that the customers are not customers, but that they are merely creating enough diversion to milk the cash cow. ActiBlizz it is....

So I honestly doubt I'll be very interested in blizzcon this year. But that's just me :)

I don't know, but how do you delete your account? Is it via the launcher or rather online?

Apparently ActiBlizz have now disabled all 4 ways that were available to delete an account?

@fantaskarsef when I say BlizzCon is going to be interesting, it has nothing to do with any video games that are going to be shown.... if you know what I mean.

Actually, WoW is expected (traditionally) to have reveal of the new expansion or at least a conclusion of the BFA. Even though BFA is absolute crap, especially compared to classic, they have made some interesting changes in the upcoming patch to keep me at least interested in seeing what new expansion will bring.

But I do agree that the new games are basically non-existent. Both WoW and W3 have only introduced the remake of old titles. Diablo had last year "reveal" as a mobile cash grab and OW and HS are basically dead.

On the other hand I kinda don't get people going to blizzcon at all, as it is an event that costs a lot of money and it is basically just a large advertisement that is also everywhere on the internet right afterwards.

Basically agree with what you say. But I guess some of the people going there are journalists, die hard fans (which don't care about many things we don't fancy), and the exclusive merch to be resold.
With WoW expansion, do they release it for WoW classic? I thought... you know, new expansion, "new" WoW, as in, the "normal" one was what they'd release it for.

I'd do the same but I haven't played a Blizzard game in years - and after the recent fiasco, I doubt I'd ever play one again. A real shame, as Warcraft was one of the first franchises that I really loved (my username comes from the ranking after one of the missions).

Yeah, new expansion as in for retail and not classic. I'd imagine that there will be release arround next August/September, so they will show something. The thing is though, that WoW has completely changed over the years, it's just not RPG anymore and aside from raids and m+ you do not even need to interact with anyone, so it's not even MMO. That's why classic is so successful, even though a lot of things are very obviously poorly designed and were very rightfully change in e.g. TBC.

But there is kind of hope that with success of classic, the retail version will at least try to implement some things from it. E.g. ability to target loot/no more loot casino, more difficult solo content, more varied and limited classes. And for me personally, I hope to god they remove that obnoxious hamster wheel that is currently in BFA and was in Legion, where you need to log in every day to do the same boring dailies, isles, etc. otherwise you can't get your minuscule amount of azerite that results in you being kinda useless over time.

boy did blizzard pick the wrong horse to back.

and while i think they had every right to call out people on their brand. they did it on 100% appease china reasons and everyone recognized that.

they finally went one greedy bs thing too far.

Well... we have yet to see if Blizzard really feels the backlash. I've read that beyond banning a player and firing two casters, users deleting their accounts, some casters / streamers are quitting.
BUT that all doesn't say they lose money, and by now we should be frank and certain, that's all they care about. Unless they miss out on massive income, they will just write it off under PR cost.

WoW, Overwatch and Hearthstone are still Top 10 on Twitch.

People are talking out of their arse saying they quit.

Well, fortnite's obviously not ActiBlizz, but you are right. But so is just chatting, was #1 a minute ago when I checked :D
But yeah, like I said, unless they feel financial troubles which hurt them more than losing the Chinese market, we know that nothing further will happen on ActiBlizz's side

The list of companies bending the knee to China is unfortunately a long one, far beyond just gaming. It's a shame Blizzard appears to be among them.
But I am a bit perplexed at just how riled up people are about this one incident, when these same people are completely silent on far more serious issues going on in China and other places.
Personally, I am not going to delete my 12 year old WoW account over this, so I can take a screenshot and show what a morally superior person I am.

One can, you know, just not play any of their games.

What I'm perplexed about is how Blizzard is willing to risk 86% of their revenue base for the sake of growing 14% of their revenue that comes from China. Their traditional player base is in the USA and Europe and they seem to be under the assumption that supporting China will allow them to grow their player base there while retaining their traditional players. Frankly, they're playing a very dangerous game that could very easily backfire (and one which may not offer any road to redemption).
