geez Mike you've really gone all out lol

anyway so i've had my ms pro for almost a month now (geez time flies) thought i'd pop back for some more impressions

the sound has really opened up now the headphones has had a bit of burn in, when i say opened up i don't so much mean the soundstage has gotten bigger but rather the space between instruments opened up more, feels more airy, to my surprise the sound has brighten up a bit too, not in a bad way but in a more "exciting, grado house sound" kind of way which i am really happy about, starting to notice the change about 2 weeks in (just through normal listening, not like some crazy people i read about running like white noise 24/7 just to "burn in" the headphones lol)

and as promised earlier here are some pics:

Despite what it looks like in that pic, they're meant to be worn over your ears!

I'm curious to see what you think of those 600s - they're the only pair of headphones I've ever returned.

Well, so far, they are the most neutral headphones I've ever heard, which is good :) They are extremely Dynamic, and very comfortable... Look them up on Google and not many unhappy customers, what is it you didn't like about them?

    regards,
    RagDoll.

They were wayyyy too bassy for my taste... and I'm probably a closet basshead. There was a huge loss of mids for me and what little bit I got of that sounded very distant. What are you amping it with? I found that they sounded best to me un-amped. Once I put a little power behind them they got extremely bassy. I powered with a Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 and a WooAudio WA7 and didn't like it with either - but straight out of my S3/S4 or MBP they sounded almost okay.

@ bballfreak6, Thanks! Your Grado looks damn good, but due to the size of the cups, they looked to be more on-ears than over-ears.

I've returned the HE400i to the seller due to a cosmetic defect, and have arranged to get hold of an Audeze LCD 2.2 with a 1.5m Effect Audio 8 Wire OCC Pure copper cable. So looking forward to getting! Will be ordering another Omega stand (like the one bballfreak6 has in his pic, it'd be a walnut one like the one I'd gotten for my HD800). I will take a pic of the HD800, LCD2, DT990 and HD555 when the LCD2 and Omega stand arrive.

The LCD2 and HD800 are basically my end game cans for orthodynamic and dynamic cans respectively. WIll then focus on DAC/AMP's for more audio goodness. I've been playing some DSD64 tracks (I now have 1.38TB worth of DSD files) using Foobar and the iFi Micro iDSD on my Senn HD800 and the sound is just amazing. With the DT990/600, it sounds good as well.....just not HD800 good.

You are correct....Grados are meant to be worn on ear, and they are wonderful sounding headphones, especially at low volume.

I agree with the HD800 and HD tracks....it is truely remarkable to say the least.....I love it.

Just got an Audeze LCD2, got it together with a non-stock cable at 1.5m only, and I'm quite impressed with the sound. Not quite as wide a soundstage as the HD800, but definitely better bass.....more to do with the quality of bass than quantity though. Also scored a 1.5m custom cable for my HD800.

Added a Fostex HPA4 to go with the LCD2, while the iFi Micro iDSD's for my HD800.
