I want Linus to do a gaming VM on epyc like he did on a Xeon....That would be purdy.

Maybe not for this motherboard specifically, but with one of the dual-socket Tyan boards (the ones with an abundance of PCIe x16 slots), something like this would make for a pretty solid multi-seat gaming system. Epyc tends to perform better when you limit the accessible memory per application (I forget what this is actually called), which is perfectly fine when you consider the use of multiple VMs running simultaneously. It should be possible to do an 8-player gaming rig with 16 threads and dual-channel memory per player. There should be little to no bottlenecking with memory or PCIe bandwidth. The tricky part is figuring out how to set up the hypervisor...
Meanwhile, get one of those GPUs with a USB-C connector, and you should be able to use a single cable to transfer video, audio, and input controls for each individual player (assuming those CPUs have a USB controller, I'm not sure if they do).
