    Not sure what to say.
If you want any evidence, I'm happy to provide it.

Oh yeah, I'm running these 2 lines in my autoexec.cfg
    r_SilhouettePOM = 1
    r_ssdo = 2

But I'm not sure how much difference they make because when I first created the autoexec, I accidentally left it named autoexec.cfg.txt and it looked to give the same performance.

I can disable them and run through the first level again and report back if you like?

have you tried other settings then setting it back to very high again ? (you have to quit the game each time)

I put it on ultra, it told me to restart the game.
Found performance to be good so kept it like that.
    autoexec was added after that.

My 5870 weeps tears of sorrow it knows its time is near. I just kept lowering those settings when I should have started with the lowest then began raising the settings. Sad.

But am content holding out on the GPU upgrade till that Oculas VR tech is in my hands. Will buy what's best for that.

Im a sucker for new tech and always have cared more about an immersive entertainment than competitive game play. And am sold on the device. I really think it has the potential to disrupt the entire gaming world as we know it, but that's just my opinion.

Your CPU will hold you back too sadly.

My CPU? if so can you elaborate because I just don't have that knowledge.

My 2500K at 4.5GHz causes drops below 60fps.
    Your CPU is slower.

Does a CPU exist that can run this title without the dips? if so at what overclock?
I wont be upgrading for this game, just curious.

I do realise I have a major upgrade coming just need patience to get the right stuff when my time comes. Planing stage has arrived budget (LOL, not really on a budget for say) is available.

Ultra ? there is no ultra. Can you maybe reset the settings to see if it changes ?
60 FPS up to 120fps for a 580GTX would be fantastic at very high (with just aa and blur disabled)

Dunno, but am partway into level 2 and its at 60fps or very close practically the whole time, running max settings but no AA, no blur.
For this level, my GPU is at stock clocks cos the extra GPU power isnt needed.
The CPU causes minor drops for a split moment just below 60fps.
    GPU use is around 90%.

It may get worse, but so far I'm really happy with the performance!

    Yeah, I mean very high.
Heh ok, but am a bit scared in case it screws it up.
Its not at 120fps for that long, but it happens regularly.
But I've been playing with 60fps limit for a while now.
I'll take it off again and see what happens.

C3 is both GPU and CPU intensive. Seems well optimized for multi-core performance and one of the few games where AMD chips do very well.

    Core loads:

and at low res from alternate site, roughly same pecking order

    Whats not max settings?
I used the 60fps limiter cos my display is running at 60hz, no point in burning electric and aging my hardware when it serves no purpose.

    Anyhow...
Vsync off, card overclocked to 920/4600.

Second level from the start, up to blowing the tower, average fps is around 80fps.
Blowing the tower is well over 110fps, it hit 116fps.

Setting everything to low used between 50 to 60% GPU (nearer 50%) and was a solid 120fps.

Going back to very high + max textures again, I got a little higher fps blowing the tower, it hit 118fps.

    Pretty consistent (phew) :)

forgot to say, for all the above tests, the autoexec tweak was removed.
It doesnt seem to make any impact, I assumed it did as I couldnt explain why I get such good performance otherwise.
    But seems it just is.

Long time reader here, but I honestly have a few questions about your recent reviews.

In past reviews before titan, you always maxed out and stressed out the card with games you selected.

Why does it seem since AMD has been getting alot of developers with that promotion they got, that the those games AMD gives away for free, you set the settings lower?

I mean 2xAA in Farcry 3? Hitman you dont even max out, and now Crysis 3 you use FXAA over using both FXAA and MSAA?

I mean....I am all for your reviewing methods, but doing things like I explained above makes me scratch my head.

And no I am not trolling, its just an observation I made recently. If I am going to buy a $1000 video card, I want to see what It can do maxing out video game settings, Not turning them down? I dunno just seems fishy to me.

Also, it is known now that Titan benchmark results change once the Video card is heated up. Did you run your tests right away? Or was Titan always warmed up with previous benchmarks? I know numerous websites have stated how they did it. And I do not remember reading about what you guys did.

Thanks again HH, and I look foward to your response.

I really dont get why you get so high FPS. you seem to be the only one here. You are scoring better then a i7-3970 with a GTX690.
it doesnt make sense at all

I havent seen anyones figures running no AA yet.
Also they will need a similar CPU + overclock, one core runs pretty near max.

Is any of your kit overclocked?
For the same CPU overclock (4.5GHz), you should get a little better performance with HT on, assuming ram latency doesnt figure in a big way.
Even at stock GPU clocks, you should be hugging close to 60fps most of the time on level 2 at least.

They have said that they didnt want a slideshow on the lower end cards.
Instead, they gave a chart showing the performance difference between all the different AA modes. so you can work out for yourself what is worth trying.
