Is it possible to enable freesync on a monitor without freesync when the monitor is connected to the computer via a Display Port cable?

My 4K display reports the DCI 4K 4096 × 2160 as a supported resolution. The problem with this is if I try to use something like Nvidia GPU scaling, the driver assumes 4096 is my native resolution (I guess because it's the highest?) and everything then is sent to the display upscaled to 4096 with black borders. Can I use CRU to remove this resolution? Does it modify the EDID on the display or just the EDID information copied to the registry?

    Thanks

    FS is at 30-75
Audio for monitor is lowered to censervate bandwidth
Specs little higher than normal 71Hz (FRT at 70FPS for smooth play)
Also it has some additional resolutions for Demos & 4K Gaming w/VSR
(Monitor have 400 peak brightness, i can watch HDR content).

You know the usual Tweaks :p

Note: 74Hz is possible but with 8Bit...

Can someone help me set this up on my AOC e2250swda? I wanna OC my monitor to 75Hz. I had config screenshots somewhere, but can't find them. Whatever I have tried to set it up, I get input not supported.

P.S. DM me if you can help :)

    CRU
    Display properties:

    V Rate = 50-76Hz
    H Rate = 30-83Hz (also try 30-60Hz)
    Max Pixel 330

Make custom resolution (look into my screen) at 74Hz (If it work then try 75Hz)
Make only 1 resolution, if it work then add another if needed.

Add extension block with Freesync at 35-75Hz (36,37 up to 45)
    Done - it should work.
