Be careful what you promise, because this game could certainly go into the Battlefront direction, depending on how many people actually will buy / have bought Battlefront.
Imagine they'd go for an alternative reality / history... could turn out pretty cool. Would need a new idea / IP, so it won't happen anyhow

Id like to see them take a page from some other games and think HUGE....like 200 players in a server, fighting tank battles on maps that are 5 times the size of the biggest ones now...really try to give the game some scope, right now its just too small, really fun, but small....kinda like....?
what worries me about futuristic combat is all those stupid perks and abilities they can add, similar to BO3, like jet back, running on the wall, gravity spikes(whatever they are called).
At least, in 2142 it didn't seem too over the top. Yes, there was a cloaking field for instance, but it was way from overpowered.
Another thing we know without being told. It will be $59.. And being they can't get away with straight up charging you $120 for a game. They con you into it with DLC.. There will be at least 6-8. Good luck with that. No DICE here. See what I did.. Pathetic! I'll wait til a GOTY edition sale. Probably will have lost all interest by then anyhow.

Battlefield 5 will be modern day military with the apparent focus being gritty and real... that is as much as I know. Hardline never happened and does not exist. *edit* turns out I'm wrong about modern day xD
2142 would be great for awesome titan mode. As general it would be nice to have some map progression as some sort of campaign. It becomes quite boring just to grind the conquest all the time. But as someone has mentioned I would love to have bigger maps with more people.
WWII with their new addition to Frosbite Engine, photogrammetry and everything could be a killing machine.
The problem with going backwards in time is that there is less tech unless they, alter history a bit, so wouldn't that mean less unlocks and customizability? *Edit Nevermind, found this: Guns & Sh*t
I think -20/+10 years sounds pretty good to me. I hope they wont go into any unrealistic stuff. Make it 70/80..Americans in Vietnam, Russians in Afganistan...
