A short while ago we mentioned Asrock's Base Frequency Boost (BFB) technology, which allows you to raise the power limit of 10th Igen ntel Core processors. Generation to maintain higher frequencies,... Asus copies Asrock BFB technology, calls it APE
Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't a feature like this part of the chipset at a hardware level and board manufacturers then create their own software for user functionality? MSI has the same feature called PLS (power limit setting)
Its nice to see fsb/base clock overclocking coming back to intel. does the igpu interfere with base clock oc even if its not being used? i think that was their excuse in the past for not allowing it though i blame lack of competition.
I thought exactly the same. IMO: It's a bit concerning that a CPU that has a the power limit of 65W with factory settings being pushed to 125W? Wouldn't the internal tracing, design or even the heat spreader of the CPU have to be improved to handle that increase in current and heat? That is a hell of a stress test!
