Have you made sure that Chill isn't enabled? It can cause stuttering.

On Windows 8.1 you can install very well Win7 drivers for your card.In short,Windows 7 drivers works well on Win 8.1 OS.
Actually I have installed 17.8.2 very well,no more manual install, just from setup and work good.

    Yet I dont installed 17.9.1.

UPDATE: Went back to 17.9.1, still hitching in SWTOR. Used RadeonMod to enable FlipQueueSize to x3100 (1), and now it's perfectly smooth.

Will there be a 17.9.2 game ready driver for WRC 7 or am I expecting too much?

There is an error(bug) in the release.
Radeon Settings dialog box shows I now have 17.9.1 with 17.9.1 available as an update.
    How screwy is that?
I sent a report to AMD.

Wish you had the courtesy to announce it before you make another whining post here.

The last thing I want is to give AMD a free pass when they screw me over.

I've noticed that recent drivers require more voltage on (at least my) RX480 for the same clocks.

    Probably because of vdrop.

    I think I've found a bug:

As you can see a lot of elements are squared instead of rounded. Chromium renders the page fine, but firefox is a mess.
Same problem in the netflix windows app.
    Problem started with 17.9.1.

In this particular card the probably more demanding drivers seem noticeable because of high ASIC vs low default bios voltage set (which is only 1,043V read under WattTool-0.92, unlike most 1.1XXV RX480 cards falling under common ASIC values).

It shows a very low ~1.032V under gaming load and ~1.018V under Furmark, and it lost any room for OC at default voltage with these last drivers, somewhere after 17.6.2 (last ones I've used for long). Even +13MHz (the ~1% announced soft OC for the Gaming X at 1316/2025 from stock 1303/2000) will now start artifacting after a while in Chrome and ending with a driver restart, while it was perfectly stable before.

Renders just fine on FireFox here. You using final, beta, or nightly?

Well, I noticed the vdrop since 17.7.2. Whatever I set I get one or two voltage steps less (one step is 6.25mV). So you just need to compensate for that.

R9 280x, waterfox, the debloated version of FF. But the problem is also present in windows apps.
